The Avengers assemble for this first-ever roundtable episode with five living legends in the herb game that you absolutely cannot miss a minute of.

Blackleaf is joined in the FSOTD studio by none other than Sherbinski, Serge, Sensi Seeds, Champelli, and M-1 from famed hip-hop group Dead Prez to discuss Mario Guzman aka Sherbinski’s Voice of the Plant movement as well as their shared Breeding Grounds project and overall collective endeavors with breeding and preservation of classic and new-school genetics.

Coming off of the heels of Voice of the Plant’s groundbreaking activation, The Vault, at this year’s MJBizCon in Las Vegas that featured countless lauded breeders as well as hosted its own thought-leading panels, Mario and M-1 from Dead Prez have a lot to say about their intentions with this project and how it plans to continue manifesting itself into other forms including genetic preservation and even new original music that fuses hip-hop with reggae elements.

Throughout the pod, you’ll hear a bevy of meaningful and memorable stories being retold, including how Sherbinski first met Masonic Smoker, the first time Sherb heard his strain mentioned in a song, what it’s like for Serge to be working in the industry with his brothers (one being Fidel,) and Champelli’s small role in the release of Richard Delisi. You might also hear how Sherbinski got shot down in person by Quincy Jones at a Grammy party, and how that subsequently inspired him to create Voice of the Plant with his wife, Victorine Deych.

For fans of international stories surrounding the passion of the plant, you’ll also get to hear what it was like growing up in Holland for Tim from Sensi Seeds, eventually coming to Amsterdam and falling in love with cultivating any Sensi cuts he could get his hands on, and how he ultimately ended up coming to work for Sensi Seeds in almost every aspect of the business. Tim may also drop some gems about a new Breeding Grounds collaboration with AK and Death Row/SMKRS. Towards the end of the pod, he also weighs in on the current state of licensing in Amsterdam right now.

One other noteworthy collaboration worth mentioning is between Serge and Sensi Seeds. If you listen really closely during the episode, you might hear them talk about bringing back some old cuts from Amsterdam and exchanging what Serge ended up selecting from his most dialed runs. The good news is that we might see some insane Champagne Kush crosses in the not-too-distant future that are descendants of freaking 40-year-old mothers.

Aside from all of the fun stories about running and gunning with the OGs, one of the biggest conversations in this episode is about the ongoing problem with mass incarceration for non-violent herb crimes and state-to-state regulations. M-1 from Dead Prez tells his fair share of stories about rocking with Death Row back in the day, but also highlights the problem with people still getting put in jail for herb.

Sherbinski brings up Last Prisoner Project, gives it his stamp of approval, and suggests realistic ways to help out by reaching out to your HR department about yearly charitable donations. Champelli goes in hard on his feelings about the problems with the system and how they continue to affect non-violent offenders, and how the least we can do is allow people like Richard Delisi to have his own legal brand (DeLisioso) and make decent bread.

  11. Do your research before you donate to Last Prisoner Project. The money they raise funds their huge salaries for their large staff. Donate to grassroots organizations where your money will go directly to the prisoners. Last Prisoner Project are the chads of social justice. Don't fall for their grift.

  22. I respect Sherbinski, Serge, Champelli and M-1 but this feels super cringe. They are all outdated and try to expand their 5min of fame they had way back then. Sensi and the dronkers are always in for the money, never for the community. Did shit for the homegrower, have no idea of breeding. It’s all the old Nevil work anyway even the pics are from old seed company days. What a sad bunch of clowns teamed up to bullshit grower around the world 😂😂😂😢😢😢
