Today, we disassemble my 2007 Audi R8 that I bought from Tyler Hoover of @HooviesGarage – and it’s quite possibly the worst example I’ve ever seen. It has engine issues, gearbox issues, interior issues, cosmetic issues, and it leaks like crazy. So obviously we are going to make it the best Audi R8 ever…I hope.

50 thoughts on “Rebuilding A WORTHLESS Audi R8 That Every Mechanic Gave Up On | Part 1

  1. Wow! Audi R8 has been my dream car for years. I would be more than happy to take it off your hands…after you're done with it. I'll even let you bring my 1977 Maserati Bora, one of 19, out of storage so I can have it running again. It went in storage in Las Vegas when I left Nellis AFB for my assignment to Aviano, Italy…in 1994! It has been stored since then but I moved it to my dehumidified garage in Florida.

  2. Tavarsh I must admit that you Sir are a Bad Ass! Car maniac! I wish I could do what you do. But I started watching your channel way back when! Now I do everything except transmission work on my own cars. One was A 92 Audi S4, 92 Mercedes 300TD. Unfortunately I was on the way to get my plates. When it got Broadsided. Now just a 08- W211/ E550. But you are one of my Heroes! Your Friends are also great People! 😉

  3. I'm 1 minute in, and my first thought was "I want an R8 so bad"! then you said you're giving it to someone? CMON TAVARISH! Let me get it! I'm in Florida!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Its funny to see sweating man with no brain to remove the hat indoors trying to remove engine from sports car. Браток а на столько ли ты умен, что бы за это браться?

  5. I was just watching your " My Cheap Lamborghini's Stupid Top Is STILL BROKEN (And I Can't Figure Out Why!!!)" video and noticed that there you could pronounce Oregon correctly but in CarTrek 10 you could not.
I know this is 5 years later but I wonder if the cover and/or convertible top for the Lamborghini needs some type of torsion spring to help the actuators open the cover and move the roof.

  6. That beetle was clean, they can be made quite fast, in the 60's my father had a beetle drag car. His fastest time was 11.8. so I mean that's not bad for the 60's

  7. I know ideas aren't needed or probably wanted, but I'm going to stick my dirty nose in. Turboing these cars is quite common, but what I think I'd like to see is a giant super inefficient roots supercharger, with a big bug catcher intake, possibly moulded into the body like some mclaren roof scoops are made

  8. Rex is Freddie's detail guy, like AutoAlex in the UK has his Viking detailer, Freddie and Alex should have a detailer showdown, the cleanest all around car wins.

  9. Sport Catalytic converters, a nicely flowing exhaust, connected to some nice headers, those nice headers connected to a polished cylinder block, connected to a really nice intake kit, connected to 88mm twin turbos, breathing from the beautifully vented hood, made to funnel air to the engine. A dream of mine
