How does a Detroit rap business owner survive the crashing Michigan za market? Lou Gram shares his survival strategy.

Lou Gram, known as Big Shifter, sits down to discuss the reality of operating in the current state industry. With prices dropping and wholesale taxes climbing, many shops have closed their doors. This conversation breaks down how he moved from the traditional market to obtaining a license and what that transition actually cost him.

We explore how his brand maintains its edge while every 8 Mile business competes in a race to the bottom. Lou explains the mechanics behind successful artist collaborations like the Zombie Hunter flavor with Pressure Pack, and answers the question of whether the music funds the business or the business funds the music. He also provides direct advice for young hustlers in Detroit who mistakenly view getting a license as the finish line rather than the start of a difficult journey.

  1. Yo didn't know you were in Michigan recently. Respect to this guy doing his thing with the taxes here but that shifter pack is super mid from Pressure Pack. It sits on shelves here.
Also, Trick Trick is the most influential rapper in the industry here, without a doubt. This dude may be making some money, but as a Michigan dude that is plugged into the black market and commercial…dude isn't the most influential here. Even 42 and Icewear have more motion in this space by a long shot.

  2. I got love for lou, but honestly I drove up from columbus and his shit was straight trash.I mean, the shit that had the fly shifter brand on, it was spray packs.I was looking at the bud tender craziest hell. And she telling me, sorry, we just didn't have that much stuff in stock. Man, they had pressure pack runts that used to be somewhat decent.Shit smelled like hey. Had to pay 250 for anything good, which is high as hell in Michigan. Fuck high, tech got 150 for their highest zips, and that shit smoking a million times better than whatever the fuck I was getting out of there again. I respect Lou, but bro, you need to get tapped. In with real growers, you're trying to finesse with the.Rebrand and all that bullshit when at the end of the day, it just is about how good the flowers are.

  3. Love the content but come with real better questions for the ppl that’s trying to get in the business as well, is he thinking of expanding overseas, stamps, store distribution opportunities etc

  4. Man I wish I can get next to big bro. I need some help so bad. I been a grower since I was 16 going some of the best tree I just don't know how to make my grand pop like how I see others started doing now. I was that one grower that was showing others different packs and stuff back early 2000s and they was on it they was so use to just plastic bags and stuff back then. I been on different emoji or whatever it's called now. I just need someone like big bro to show me what my next thing to do to my brand a brand. I need to start making money what I grow. I'm very solid and a loyal guy and 100 I just need lil help. Like I say I touch the dirt myself. And I'm from Michigan myself
