7. Man, watching this makes me miss my 05 E55 AMG. It was that beautiful Bordeaux red metallic. It wasn’t perfect, but was mechanically sound. Paint needed work, air pump fitting to the active bolsters and cooled seats needed to be replaced, the central gateway needed to be replaced, but aside from that it was perfect. 1 owner before me, in Arizona.

   I only had it for roughly 8 months or so (only got to drive it for a handful of those, because I was keeping it off the streets to avoid the winter salt). Then, once I almost had all the issues ironed out, I was rear ended by a drunk driver at a red light and the car was totaled.

   I think that incident saved me money overall, but also ended the ownership of an achievable childhood dream car. I’ve always had a love for sleepers, and those older AMG’s really were sleepers. Not much to tell them apart from a normal Mercedes unless you know what to look for. I embarrassed plenty of cocky people with that thing.

16. Hey, this is Doug – The Other Doug. I bought this car from Doug Demuro and kept it in Dallas for five years. This and my manual 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing are the two best cars I have ever owned. I'm really sad to see it in its current condition. Doug (Demuro) kept it immaculate and I certainly did my best to follow suit. Love the story and the added twist at the end!
