36 thoughts on “How Are Dealerships Still Getting Away With This?

  1. ‘Till this day I’m still fighting for a Type R 😭 this dealerships in Hawaii are making me head to Servco Toyota and wait patiently for a GR Corolla since they don’t sell over MSRP

  2. I knew that the Kia would have markups even though it's the Rio. Kia dealerships are absolutely out of control in general…they were marking up Sorrentos and Tellurides $8-15k back BEFORE the supply constraints (at least here in Austin).

  3. You'd expect the dealerships to make a profit, that's why they're in business after all. But a nearly 50% markup is just not acceptable on 'big ticket' items like cars. It's fine for a soda to cost $2 when it only cost the retailer $1 or less per unit, but if they suddenly charged you $20 for it… then people would find that unacceptable and rightly so.

  4. just bought a 2023 civic LX 3 weeks ago at MSRP while everyone I called was trying to mark up 5k at first. Just gotta call 20 different places and keep asking for lower price. Take the lowest price and go call all dealers you know again. Repeat until you're satisfied

  5. Just got a 2017 Civic with 34,000 miles. I payed 20k for it. You can get reasonable deals today. Please stop enabling these mark ups. You want a nice pick up or SUV fine, but please don't waist 60k to 80k. It's really not worth it.
