30 thoughts on “Building a Smartphone Brand in 2023: Can ‘Nothing’ Succeed?

  1. watever happened to "OnePlus" maaannn im still using Oneplus 7Pro until today and still der is nothing like it until now, in a world of punchhole and notch cameras, Oneplus 7 Pro stood out the test of time it still feels snappy like out of the box 💪💪💪 im having difficulty replacing it it dies in the near future😢

  2. It's got to the stage that a phone is now a phone and a laptop is just a laptop. Seems to be no additional hardware upgrades apart from a faster cpu and a better camera. quantum phones? Glasses? Bionic contact lenses? What's next?

  3. Nothing phone is basically new OnePlus of old. Overhyped mediocre phone with nice marketing, except this time they don't use highest end SoC.

OnePlus did not manage to be "itself" and it's just yet another oppo sub-brand.

  4. Lets design a phone with openbsd arm as its os and nuclear batteries replace the lithium batteries. Also add some direct satellite communiccation on it through spacex etc.. and every kind of sensor and transreciever should exist like cc1101.

  5. Ask fujitsu, they did m-series chips way before apple. But apple released it as something new and people believed. Because apple has tons of money for marketing and it is known worldwide. Either you come up with a groundbreaking tech like non silicon, quantum entaglement light chips or making up the external desing does not work for startups.

  6. Anyone talking trash on the NP2 has definitely not used it. You pay to play when you have a start up company. The cameras are great, don't just use the specs as a point of contention if you havent used it. The battery life is also great, the glyphs are gimmicky at times, but then at times they are not. It's a cool phone overall with a great build quality. People love to hate on newer companies for the sake of having a negative opinion, but more choices are better for us, the consumer. Why battle that notion?

  7. It's hype. It's not too late to get into the game, but you've got to do something new, something original and something innovative at this point. Carl is an excellent marketer but they haven't achieved anything momentous yet.

  8. This idea of a new brand that listens to the community is the mission statement of every single new brand for as long as I can remember. Nothing is named perfectly because there is Nothing new here. Atleast this isn't a marketing video, oh wait…

  9. I found out about NOTHING a few months ago. Their products definitely caught my attention. But besides that, I can't see a reason that actually differentiates NOTHING from any of their competitors. In other words, they don't stand out like Tesla did in 2015. I'll wait.

  10. London based start up that does everything in Stockholm and is called nothing but is trying to do everything. Is a brand that has a brand and is android that what's so badly to be an iPhone. I like the branding, but the fact it's so hard to get any products other than the headphone in Sweden is quite annoying.
