Cars in the 1960s were starting to change. People were wanting power and auto manufactures were delivering on those demands. Body styles were sleek and the cars were large. No one had any concern over gas prices or miles per gallon. The 60s gave way to some iconic cars such as the Mustang and Camaro which have remained popular to this day. In this video we will have a look at some 1960s snapshots of people with cars.

  1. I was born in 1970,bout a year ago in '21,I bought a 68 Impala, with original 46k miles all original paint not restored, been enjoyable and fun to drive alot of compliments while on daily drives

  2. First car, 66 mercury comet Capri, then a 70 Impala. But then I found the one true muscle car that I always dreamed about…..My 1968 GTO 400 FOUR SPEED, had the fold away headlights and even the optional illuminated hood tachometer. I still get sad remembering when I had to let her go.

  3. Over 500 miles breathing carbon monoxide fumes, riding in the fold-up bench seats in the back of Dad's 66 Ford County Squire station wagon. AND THE THREE OF US LITTLE BRATS SURVIVED! 😂😉😤

  4. A kid working at mc'donalds in the 60's could get 3 gallons of gas for an hour's work, today a kid at mc'donalds can get about……. 3 gallons of gas, it's all relative.

  5. Thank u very much this video cause it was very interested for me! Why? Cause every body talking about the 50s cars what was like art style or talking about the 70s muscle cars. But not too much things about the 60s cars. Thanks mate.

  6. My grandparents were young. From back in those days. So I never experienced the 1960's. If I was born in the sixties, I would have bought myself. A 1960 Toyota Corolla with fair gas mileage. From an auction or dealership at $900 per month. Plus listening to great music would have been splendid too. It was one of a kind. From the Beatles to Frank Sinatra.

  7. My grandfather had one of very early VW bugs. I think it was a1950 something year model. My parents bought a brand new 1968 red VW bug. In the summer of 1970 we loaded it up with our camping gear and drove it from VA to California, camping along the way. There was 4 of us on that trip. That was a trip to remember!

  8. I was pretty young kid in the 60's, but I remember a bunch of these cars! I was on drugs back then, I was drug to the grocery store, I was drug to church, I was drug to the mall,,,🤣

  9. That was very enjoyable to watch, Thank You! I remember years ago talking with a number of Vietnam Vets from time to time & they would mention a muscle car they got after they made it home from the war, or a few others that had bought one only to get drafted and had put the car away until they could get back home. Some of them did return to enjoy the cars they had & unfortunately some did not…..

  10. Yep, the '60s were the best time for cars. My dad bought a new '64 Ford Galaxie and about two weeks later the first Mustangs came out. I tried to get him to sell the Galaxie and get the Mustang — but no dice. My husband and I bought a 1969 Dodge Charger as our first car out of college. We never let go of the '60s. We still have the Charger. I'm surprised that there were no photos of Chargers among all of the Mustang pictures.

  11. When I moved to America during the earlier of 1970, there was a different between life style in Suburban and intercity. I agreed with the chip on Suburban life style that was restrict to some group of people! The intercity life style is still a big different dealing with frighting with crime drug and car theft! . My uncle home in the city limited was broken in twice by neighbor, even he kept the door lock. My friends was robbed for $35,00 cash. I was trained to walk and keep crossing street when I encounter the crown of kids. We travel to visit our friends who lived in suburban in PA and it was the way this clip just described!
