We’re celebrating Teckademics’s 20th Anniversary this month! Sean Murphy and I started Teck in January 2002.
We signed the Hashiriya DVD back in 2003/4. It features Japanese car culture in the early 2000s. – Dustin
Description:
“Long circulated on the underground circuit, HASHIRIYA is a Japanese drifting video with a blatant disregard for the rules of the road. This sought-after document of import insanity is chock full of footage of illegal street racing, police chases, and all sorts of other highly dangerous activity that puts normal, law-abiding citizens at serious risk. Also included are tips straight from the Japanese originators of the drifting phenomenon. With contents like this, HASHIRIYA should be stamped with dozens of disclaimers– “Don’t try this at home….or anywhere for that matter!”

34:03 beautiful Initial D job on this Toyota:) thank you so much for releasing all this old Mischief content for free!
That early 2000’s vibe is so precious, also interesting to see how car culture has evolved since then – now USDM import style is a thing in Japan and drift missiles are a thing in the US
I have to ask since it wasn’t so clear in the credits, any link to the trance track playing in the first drift segment and credit roll? Would love to throw it in a set for a rave one day
Fumiaki Komatsu

Anyone know what Suiken song that is in the intro?
Makes sense that it’s a great movie. Still have it.

The nostalgia is kicking in….I still have this DVD among other Teckademics films in my man cave lol.
God dam this brings me back 😁
My youth lives again
i once saw a clip of you getting chased around by a cop in a snowy parking lot. Literally the slowest police chase i''ve ever seen, and you even said that in the video. I think it could go viral as a standalone clip named the slowest police chase in recorded history
Always enjoy watching these classics. I remember the hostility of the American vs Japan of the car community. Tuners vs Muscle. People sure were divided back then.
I saw a single copy of this DVD back in 2003 at a Best Buy and immediately bought it. This brings back some great memories.
How many more volumes to come?
Love Japan!!!
Classic stuff right here. Add some time stamps also, those help a lot.
The simplifier times playing need for speed and watching mitscheif DVD that we rented from the local movie store
