5. Imagine dragons is my favorite band, have always been, and will always be. Their music means a lot to me and it's gotten me through some rough spots in life. And of course i really enjoy listening to them. I know all their lyrics by heart and can play most of their songs on guitar. But to be honest I understand why their music is not for everyone. And as far as I'm concerned I usually label them as indie more than rock. Some of their songs are heavily overplayed and they also happen to not really be my favorite by them, but that doesnt mean i dont like the song. They will always have a special place in my heart and as long as i like the music i dont care what other people think. I went to one of their concert for the first time of my life this year and it was one of the best things ive ever experienced. Hopefully they have more music to release in the future and im more than excited to see what theyre gonna release. Even if theyre the most hated band, theyre my favs <3

14. Bingo! All excellent points. I personally think a majority of the "hate" Imagine Dragons receive is because their music is just middle of the road, not very good stuff. But the death knell is due to (way) over exposure.
    The idea that in order to make great art the artist needs to be tortured, suffer, only focus on the dark side of things is a rock myth that just won't go away.

    In regards to Nickelback. They've earned every bit of the worst band ever title. Their music is truly awful.

15. They faded for a few years and became irrelevant then came back. 2014 to 2021 they didn't gain traction on the billboard 100 or 40. They have had a happy 2022.

16. ID are the band that people who pretent to like rock like because the media have told them they're a popular rock group but it isn't rock which is why they listen to the music without realising they aren't listening to rock.

27. Being honest, I still enjoy their second album, but I only listen to it very rarely. It think the band was pretty good for their first two albums, but then started to become bland.

28. The music isn’t bad, it’s just mediocre. It’s every generic, bland, talentless pop rock group you’ve ever heard. The problem for me is how inescapable they are. They’re getting played everywhere. I would just ignore them and move on with my life but when you can’t fucking go to any public space that plays music without hearing them, my feelings towards them turn from apathy to hatred. No hate towards the band members themselves tho, they seem like cool chill people.

31. While I don’t outright hate artists like Imagine Dragons, Nickelback, or FFDP, I do hate what they kind of represent. That is, a band who found a formula that is guaranteed to work and never deviate from it. Especially with imagine dragons, when people say their songs follow the same formula, they pretty much say the band never tries to do anything new or different. Basically their whole discography can be summed up with just a few of their songs. So while I won’t go out of my way to bash the band or their fans, I probably will not ever willingly listen to their music just because of that blandness. To me, an artist who at least tries to step out of their comfort zones is what I consider authentic, even when the result isn’t always good
