We found out if the Cybertruck can survive an entire weekend of overlanding in freezing temperatures.

Huge thanks to Unplugged Performance for lending us their modified Cybertruck https://unpluggedperformance.com/

Special thanks to our friends Zachary Diehl and Dissent Off-Road for guiding us through the mountains.

  1. I wanna know what's gonna happen when people start off-road. Those scouts, I don't understand why you couldn't just bring a little generator with you in like 10 gallons of diesel. The generators don't use gas that fast, right? I know it was charged because it would just be at the one tenbold level. There are wind charged very fast, but still you think that would be enough. If you just left to charge in every night, or every time you stopped to give you some extra range, and at least those scouts, you can get that range extender. So I guess you wouldn't even have to do it with those over

  2. 2:08 There's a reason the #1 rule in the EV world foot over a decade now has been "don't buy a Tesla!" They were so badly built, low quality, have a million false promises, their batteries die unusually fast because their management software overloads them to artificially boost the numbers they can advertise… Yeah, they run the batteries extra hot for the first 10% of their life so they can claim extra mileage and higher per levels, then they switch that off progressively to the actual battery limits. This is why the "the battery will only last ten years" issue got spread around. Turns out all the non-Tesla EVs from back then are doing just fine!

  3. The reality is that this is specifically the opposite of a task an EV is meant for… Which is why EV TRUCKS are a really dumb idea. Hybrids with range extenders and ECVTs for maximum torque to all wheels at all times sure… All electric, absolutely not!

Note: After driving several EVs and being a car girl for road vehicles EVs are definitely the best. I just wish they'd stop trying to cheap out, copy Tesla, and out actual buttons and rack controls in the things.

Oh: and stop making them so big and putting such oversized batteries in them. When you can charge at home on a standard outlet you really don't need over 100 miles of range! Cut the battery in half and the can weigh less than the equivalent combustion powertrain, have almost no unsprung weight, more power, and individual drive for the wheels for perfect power delivery at all times … They just need to stop making every one a refrigerator…

  4. It is NOT the coolest thing you can get right now. It's a pile of shit and broken promises produced by a dude the world would be better off without. I came here to see it fail and I wasn't disappointed. That wasn't even "off road". That was "gravel road". Tesla owners got scammed.
