Catholics chained Bibles to the pews because they were written by scribes. Not because they didn't want people to read the Bible. The Church was limited by Latin and and handwritten bibles before the printing press was invented and literacy was widespread. Now there's a Bible in every Catholic pew in every language, and more accurately translated to modern languages from the original than the protestants could ever imagine, nor take the time to study that fact.
The quiet part out loud also for Islam, is to take all the land , and the whole world, and it's in their scriptures plain to see if you if study Islamic scriptures.
