2:00 explains a huge part of the problem. Having to jar flower in 1/8th oz jars causes the curing to speed up versus doing it in pound bags. More material, longer cure. The experience buying out of the large jars/bags was a better experience for the consumer as they got to smell the product they were actually buyingand buy as many grams allowing for discounted prices. Its always louder and fresher out of the big containers. Sealed Jars just allow big pharm and big corps to move in as the sealed jars hide the quality of the actual product.

I grow OG in my home grow mainly because no one was able to grow it right since 2012.. that’s the whole reason why I started growing.

it just became legal in my state about 1.5 years now , for the most part i would never believe black market names , i was never that close to the grower and i saw the names as marketing for the local plugs , so i don't really know specific strain traits from the late 2000s

“OG Kush” is a marketing term. If you don’t believe me, ask Kevin Jodrey. It’s not actually even from the Kush region. It’s a polyhybrid, not a kush, not a full-on indica. Legendary, for sure but it has fooled a generation of smokers into thinking they know what Kush is.

All the people complaining about their weed not being old school genetics don’t have the right people around them. All the old strains sour, og, haze are still around just way harder to find now a days. Haven’t smoked any og kush this year but I’ve smoked original haze crosses and a bunch of different sour diesel genetics and crosses. A lot of people are getting tired of bland candy backs with little effect and growers are catching on. I’ve been messing with the black maple cut tho perfect mix of sweetness and gas with fantastic effects.
Bring back bag seed grows. Stuff would be dank back in the day

Everything comes in and out of style og was the top dog for years and is a difficult strain to produce because the genetics are weak! Mold, pm, low yields it worked when you could get good prices back before 2013 but now it’s because the industry is shit quantity over quality smh the market is struggling to sustain so you’re getting shitty product. Every industry has seen an increase in product prices besides the marijuana industry and will continue to decline because the fact is the supply is higher than the demand. People who have joined the industry think the more they grow the more they will make 😂 which is why the prices are so low back in the day it was hard to find any real og, master kush, bubba or hell real gdp now everyone that’s anyone can call someone in there phone and they have the lowest price candies😂 gelatos, runtz etc which are all linked to og or a kush strain. People are easily manipulated by a name which is just put on it rather it’s true or not lol and the rate these supposed new strains are coming out is not believable if you know how developing strains is achieved. It fools the average smoker but not the ones who know. It’s become more about packaging, quantity and marketing than the actual quality unfortunately. Now a 100 light grow is nothing 😂 that’s mom and pop stuff which is insane and anyone who’s anyone knows that the real triple a quality isn’t produced in high quantities.

The real deal og is very much alive and is still lip smacking tasty! It doesn't get sold because people are cheapskate ducks! The market prices went down the drain and so the people who grow real og keep it for head stash only. Yes, your local homegrower has it, not the dispo. Start supporting your local grower and maybe you'll get to smoke it again… maybe😂

Strains I miss…OG, Grand Daddy Purp, Pre 2013 NY Sour Diesel, Mango Kush, Lemon OG, and Haze. Weed in NYC was beautiful back then, Kush's would have you smacked all day off one blunt lmao, of course reggies was around.
