35 thoughts on “How to be a Porsche VIP

  1. Total BS. So many errors. GT cars are not limited edition only limited production. Premier customers drive these cars
Like 50-100 miles and help flip the cars. Total hogwash. You also have pay taxes and license on all these throw away cars in the interim. Unless you become a Premier customer at a Premier dealer and have lots of money to waste its a fools errand. Sincerely a Porsche owner

  2. The dealer becomes the flipper…simple as that. Used Porsche prices aren't reported to Porsche of North America. Dealers then markup the “used” inventory from their VIPs and then keep selling they're RS models to the VIP’s who buy it at MSRP and trade it in 2 months later with 800 miles for another one while the dealer than marks up the “used” vehicle and pockets profit on the same car….twice.

This is Champion Porsches business model. Last I checked they are the largest volume Porsche dealer in the US.

  3. I actually have a GT500 CFTP, and the dealership saw that I've been a long time ford customer with 5 previous trade ins they only charged me for 6k over to do a mandatory PPF which I wanted to anyways. I got a pretty sweet deal! I also bought a Porsche Cayenne 23' and I really want a GT3RS not for investment but I want to enjoy the car. I really do hope I can fall into that category one day.

  4. If you trade your car in and take a hit, then buy another car at sticker price and take the depreciation hit on that I’m pretty sure you’re losing more than $60,000 if you just bought a used one now with 500 miles on it.

  5. Why is it not fare to get paid more for your car, They make money selling the cars. The only one getting fk is the consumer To weed out the flippers sign a contract they can't sell the car for 3 years and if they need to sell, Will it goes back to the dealer.

  6. Did ha actually say they dealer wants to make life long clients. BS. When demand is high they don’t give a shit and therefore the salesmen get lazy and provide little customer service as a result.

  7. this is simply not true. You can order what ever car you want WITHOUT having to buy cars you don’t want from the dealer. You just need to have the money for the vehicle.

  8. I tried to buy a Taycan Turbo S during the COVID shortage from a dealer 40 miles from my house, only to be told that I lived too far away—they only wanted “local” customers. Now that same dealer is bombarding me with emails and text messages about Taycans that they can’t move. 😂

  9. This is not necessarily true, in Houston my friends has bought about 7-8 new Porsches from the dealership and still has no allocation to a GT3 or GT3RS that he wants. He literally bought two 718 Spyders over sticker, 992 GTS, two Macan GTS, GT4, GT4RS over sticker, etc. Feel bad for the guy throwing away so much money.

  10. I’m sorry but this is an awful thing to do to paying customers. Charge sticker and offer the GT line to anyone who has the money to buy. If you want to limit the flippers, just make everyone sign a 1 year lease for right of repurchase. Problem solved. Everything else is just unethical. Then again, someone will yell capitalism as if that’s the right answer.

  11. The number one reason why there are all flippers is because of manufacturers allocation. This is just another great way to get more business for them. The harder manufacturers make it to get their cars the more profitable there will be on the secondhand. If they really want to stop a end to this they just got to make more car of that model period!

  12. Thats a really good point, walking in expecting to be front of line is crazy. I like what hes saying (most commenters that don’t like what hes saying probably are never gonna buy one anyway 😂)

  13. A little late to the party but I finally have come into some money and I have wanted a GT3 since i was a kid. This 992 generation is amazing but I have been having a hard time justifying that 60 to 100k mark up. I will be looking to make the purchase within the next year, hoping a 992.2 comes out relatively soon to bring down the prices on the 992.1s. If not, will probably be looking into a 991.2 GT3 / RS

  14. Here's a few issues with said 'process'
    1. Why do I have to beg YOU to give you my money?
    2. Why can't it just be first come first served?
    3. Even if I build the rapport and relationship with the dealer, what guarantee do I have that I would get the car I want ANY WAY? I've seen multiple 'VIPs' be SKIPPED just because a BIGGER VIP came by and now wanted the same car. <- BROKEN PROCESS

  15. I am not doing what this guy says, I am a customer, I bought a GT4, I have 3 other Porsches, I am an enthusiast, I am a PCA national instructor, they should treat guys like me better. They don’t care about anything but profit, whoever pays it. I just bought a Tesla as a commuter car, what a pleasant experience.
