I am a 69 year-old retired licensed psychologist who was diagnosed back in 1967 with an eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa, which is an X linked meaning the female is a carrier and the males are afflicted, progressive, degenerative eye disease, and I have been totally blind for a little over 20 years now. I’ve been waiting and hoping for a breakthrough for an eye transplant or growing, and installing a new retina or photo cell development to the point that it’s worth replacing the defective retina with a retinal chip but every year I wait and I hope, and I fear that the day they put me in the grave is the day they’ll have the breakthrough. I only hope that that’s not true but my eligibility for surgery diminishes every year I get older and older. Peace.
