Texas Jack was one of the first western performers. He started the western shows with Buffalo Bill and Ned Buntline.

His marker looks like it says 39 or maybe even 38 for his age but that could be due to growth. I'm not sure. His actual age at the time of his death was 33 and he was just shy of 34.
Wow, Thanks for sharing. I am a descendent of old Texas Jack
Texas Jack was married to an Italian ballet dancer. The "little Spanish lady" was probably her. They were in Leadville together when he died of pneumonia. She performed with Buffalo Bill & Texas Jack when they fell in love & were married.
I live close to abingdon. Is that the big cemetery in town,?
Its sad his wife is not buried next to him
just visited his grave last october, he's my great great great cousin. glad to see other's intrigued by his life
Interestingly, there were so many pictures of him, too. Gr8 video.
Very interesting story
Wealthy ain't the word for it about his parents. In 1860 the Real Estate was listed as $17,500 and the Personal Property was $30,325.
Thanks, Rhetty, for not being politically correct and canceling Jack since he rode with Jeb Stuart.
This is the second video I've watched where you miss translate the meaning of "CSA". "CSA" stands for Confederate States of America.
Awesome, awesome, awesome…..keep up the great work,
My wife is a descendant from the Ohmuhandro ‘ s from Charlottesville Virginia. We visited Texas Jacks’s grave when we lived in Denver. His wife moved to Lowell Massachussets where she died and was buried. A charcoal tracing of his grave stone adorns a wall in our house.
It's sad that Jack and his wife died so young and that they aren't buried together.
Interesting report on Texas Jack. Leadville is 1 of our favorite spots to go. Next time we're there will look up his grave. From Greeley, Colorado 🙂
Just another loss of a great man at an early age…so sad, not to mention Josephine as well a few years later. I believe depression can cause a disease that of which took her life. Thanks Rhetti for more outstanding history of the Ole West.🐎🤠
This was another wonderful video. This was a fascinating and sometimes sad story. His wife must have suffered a great deal. Thankyou for this great video 🤩🤩
This was very well done ! Thank you!
Very nice thanks for sharing. It made me think of the wild west show you had in a video and I have watched that a few times.
I love cookies!

Fantastic video Rhetty ♥️🇺🇸💙
Loved this! I’ve heard of Texas Jack but didn’t really know his story. Thanks!
Just discovered your channel and it’s great, as if we’re having studying history of the great peoples ! Thanks 🙏
Awesome story! He was indeed a handsome man.
It's sad that his wife doesn't appear to be buried beside him..
That cemetery is one I could spend hours wandering around in..
IN THIS DAY AND AGE IT'S NICE TO REMEMBER THAT GOOD PEOPLE DID LIVE IN THE OLD WEST.
The original Texas Jack. There were others, just like there were other Wild Bills and Billy the Kids. Some took the names up purposely and some didn't.
Thank you Rhett. Never knew about him. Very interesting as always.. Shame that they both died so young. My best to you all. 😀🐘💝
I have a long passed cousin buried in Central City who would be worth a visit. Enjoyed the video as always.
RIP Jack and Josephine!! XXXX
Another great story! Really lovely cemetery🪦🪦
