  1. His marker looks like it says 39 or maybe even 38 for his age but that could be due to growth. I'm not sure. His actual age at the time of his death was 33 and he was just shy of 34.

  2. Texas Jack was married to an Italian ballet dancer. The "little Spanish lady" was probably her. They were in Leadville together when he died of pneumonia. She performed with Buffalo Bill & Texas Jack when they fell in love & were married.

  3. My wife is a descendant from the Ohmuhandro ‘ s from Charlottesville Virginia. We visited Texas Jacks’s grave when we lived in Denver. His wife moved to Lowell Massachussets where she died and was buried. A charcoal tracing of his grave stone adorns a wall in our house.

  4. Interesting report on Texas Jack. Leadville is 1 of our favorite spots to go. Next time we're there will look up his grave. From Greeley, Colorado 🙂

  5. Just another loss of a great man at an early age…so sad, not to mention Josephine as well a few years later. I believe depression can cause a disease that of which took her life. Thanks Rhetti for more outstanding history of the Ole West.🐎🤠

  6. This was another wonderful video. This was a fascinating and sometimes sad story. His wife must have suffered a great deal. Thankyou for this great video 🤩🤩

  7. Awesome story! He was indeed a handsome man.
It's sad that his wife doesn't appear to be buried beside him..
That cemetery is one I could spend hours wandering around in..

  8. The original Texas Jack. There were others, just like there were other Wild Bills and Billy the Kids. Some took the names up purposely and some didn't.
