A humorous look at the British class system still clinging on to centuries of tradition in the Home Counties in the 1970s.
Made during Nick Broomfield’s years at the National Film & Television School in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, this film is a wry examination of the very British attitudes of this affluent and influential area of England.

  1. This appears to only be about the top 5%???
The most pompous self entitled racist, bigots in the world!!🙄
( with a couple of caricatures of working class at the end😉)

  2. I look at John lennon who was not born way up in class but turned into a world wide hero of sorts who is known by millions although he has been dead over forty years! not because of who his 😅cousin is or whatever….but what your beliefs are regarding the world and all its people…and standing up and saying what you think…that is real class in my opinion..but im not british , im american.😅

  3. Quite a bit of racism here. It's far from just the US with a racism problem. This, Japan is similar, it's everywhere. It's just tribalism and the desire of the "well to do" to maintain the status quo.

  4. You might of been proud of the country in 1940.
Since then we've pissed on the graves of war hero's who fought to keep Britain British.
It's now a nation of Islam, Jamaica, Africa, India, Pakistan..ect.
The culture has gone. All that's left is a violent corrupt and non British state.
I don't blame Scotland for seeking their independence.

  5. Flower arranging and cookery.? I taught my daughter the basics of computing. She went on to get a Bsc and then a Msc. She's now one of the top cyber security experts for the police.

  6. 70's England is a very different place to England today, the toffs aren't as torrelated now as they were then, a bit like killing foxes i spose

  7. The Brits had every right to be proud. They were a tough as nails people who did achieve magnificent things.
Like EVERY powerful people in every generation that has ever lived, they sought to extend their power and influence. That isn't necessarily always a bad thing. They were one of the first nations in human history to turn the mirror on themselves and start changing the way the weakest of humanity were treated.
Civilization evolves. To judge a past generation by the societal notm not in place at the time is ridiculous.
    Imperfect, yes. Human, sure.

  8. As an American who's always had an interest in British culture (I always say i may be Greek American on the outside, but in my secret heart, Im British lol), I find myself drawn to northern Brits. There's just something appealing about them to me, especially once I could understand the accents 🙂

  9. clinging to to british tradidtion. my grandson is 10. everytime i ask him how was school today. he say it was good. i foolow it with so what did you do. he replies every time. math. i ask what still, what else are you learning. with a sigh. just math.
so right now he should be advancing to becoming tenth dan astrophysisist right. nope. he was always good at math and infact scored higher that kids few years older than him. on his entrance scores. you would think he would of improved right. nope his math ability is in reduction math problems he would normally be set by his parents failing. but all they do day in day out every week is math.

so WTF!! are they teaching my grandson in school? because accordingto him it is only math all day nothing else. so what isn't my grandson saying. signs that children clam up when asked simple questions means they are not saying because of fear.
math all day nothing else. maths in decline when he was years ahead at the start because his mother and father taught him. spelling high because his mother and father taught him(not like mine it is crap) handwiritng in decline become sloppy and messy. so what is going on in british schools where a child refuses to tell you what they are learningin schools. and why do they feel the need to not tell their parents.
    why is their no investigation.
traditional british school education actually was education. children learnt something. even the disruptives ones left primary school smarter ( sometimes) than it seems children in school today. anyone sen a gen Z basic questions vlog. why are they becoming so dumb even at colledge level. and a child who was advanced in math who does math ever lesson can no longer do math expected for his age group.

whats happened to the british education system. because it seems my grandson a top table student is de educating on a subject he exelled in.

  10. England, the “honeypot of the World.” I don’t think so! I’m pretty *sure that was The Con spread throughout the World!!! I would argue that the World is the honeypot andANDand England as well as a few other nations have been raping that honeypot 🙄
Gawwwwd the arrogance is just so `British’ of him/them/they 🤮

  11. I'm 8 minutes in to this video and my first impression is: wow, what a self satisfied bunch. I guess I'll keep watching to learn more about how these people rationalized to themselves how great they were? 14 minutes in: hmmm.. the video only gets worse.
