Read Time:30 Second

There are things that we use each and every day that most of us don’t realize how long they have been around much less how they used to be. Some of these items may look a little strange now but we wouldn’t be where we are now without how they used to be. In this video we will have a look at everyday items that have changed.

  1. Hello people from the 2020's I'm a time traveler from the 2080's and we have hypernet which is much better than the internet as we can communicate with people on Mars and the whole Sol System

  2. Rhetty – carbon teterchloride is highly TOXIC and a known carcinogen.
NON toxic Carbon Dioxide fire Extingishers replaced C-tet.
and later with inert ABC fire Extinguishers.

  3. When I was a kid in school all I carried with me was a paper note book and a pen and pencil.
Weekends and summer vacations we roamed like feral dogs with absolutely no adult supervision "all day"
Had 3 channels on a black and white TV, smelled tobacco smoke "everywhere" we went…..even in doctors offices.
Got my first job at 13 years old at the minimum wage of 75 cents an hour. Our school teachers were allowed to bash us in the head.
There were no leash laws for pets. In my city groups of dogs would just roam the business district. If I missed church on Sunday I was definitely going to HELL……and the only businesses open on sunday were churches, gas stations and pharmacies.

  4. In the 60's I was the official rabbit ears adjuster…my kids were mine as well as channel changers. Once remotes came out my kids were worthless to me. Maybe beer caddies but mostly useless little hobos

  5. Hey now! since broadcast TV has now gone digital everywhere, rabbit ear antennas bring in TV signals that are just as good and clear as cable, if not even better. Also no cable bill at all.
My $15 Wal-Mart special set of rabbit ears brings in 82 crystal clear tv channels, in Wichita Kansas. i HAVE CUT THE CABLE CORD.

  6. luck we don't have to use Rabbit ear antenna anymore really look at the price we have to pay for not needing to use them anymore and as far as mankind goes, I believe the Reighn of terror of man will end soon because man is killing himself and the planet that God let man use

  7. I remember match books were used as marketing and business cards. Every business and restaurant had them. Probably why we grew up setting fires.

  8. Those ancient Sumarian sunglasses remind me when my great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great…

  9. I'm 50-truly an old soul. I was in an orthopedic waiting room because I had a knee replacement. As I sat in my chair, I watched many older than myself adults glued to their phones. I was the youngest and the only person not on mine. It's just sad. Even worse, I'll never date again because no one talks to each other and I plan on keeping my old-fashioned values. Your videos are like wonderful virtual museums.

  10. I was born in the 50's and grew up in the 60's- we never had rabbit ears. My Mom hated them and thought they were ugly. We had an antenna on the roof- my Dad was often up there adjusting them because the wind would blow them around. And I had a hair cut from a Barber using those shears…

  11. Hey the shower one has been brought back, it's just now updated. My sisters house has a shower like the one in the video where water shoots out in all directions. Honestly it's pretty cool!

  12. I'm 65 and I lived in Queens New York and we had antenna on the chimney and then we moved to brand new house on Long Island New York in 1964 and my father put our antenna in the Attic.. fast forward to today the house we bought 24 years ago, a 1920s Dutch Colonial had an antenna in the attic too! Never had rabbit ears anywhere I have ever lived!

  13. Ah rabbit ears. They were the real reason that remote control wasn't a thing until the 90s — the decade by which practically everyone had finally gotten cable or satellite TV. There had been remote control televisions on the market since at least the 1960s, but I never saw one in real life until some time in the '80s. Now of course they're ubiquitous. I doubt there's a single TV on the market today that doesn't come with one. But back in the day, there was simply no point in having them when you had to get up from your seat and adjust the rabbit ears every time you changed the channel. (And there was always at least one channel on the dial that simply never came in clearly, no matter how you fiddled with the stupid things.)

  14. those bread jail toasters are beautiful and still being sold on ebay. I want to get one.
My father was a fireman and he had some fire grenades from way back
    only for display.

  15. Use to have my antenna outside the window..
stick your arm out and twist the pole to get the best reception.
nobody needed a remote… that's what kids are for.
