21 thoughts on “Apple Makes iPhone 14 in India Amid China Woes

  1. Why not producing it in USA? Yes it make it a bit more expensive but the American people will love it. Imagine how much wealth would bring to the country?
An iPhone cost to Apple around 150 dollars to be manufactured and it sells at 1000 dollars worldwide
    Greedy corporations

  2. Globalization enables China to seize the opportunity.
It's closure/lockdown or what not~ will be India's turn to seize what it can gain from it~
Just like how Singapore actually greatly and ironically benefited from HK's decline (many people with wealth/connection/talent went to SG from HK several times above post-2020)

Needless to say it could be a big problem if India takes the same path the current Beijing is ~10-20 years down the line

  3. Yup CCP CHN is cheap for the short term but it's not expesive coz' of Covid deaths, life is priceless and also it's blocking the sea route at the Spratlys.

    God bless.

  4. what is apple doing that its learned to improve the work conditions for the factory workers. How to evaluate and gaurantee fair pay and safe work condition for the factory workers?

  5. Much rather the “west” NOT move to India to repeat the very same mistake as the “China consequence” but instead diversify, invest closer to home and as much as pods create domestically. There’s no reason that these cannot be made domestically OR at minimum within countries that have no “strategic” GEOPOLITICAL ASPIRATIONS, places like Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, S.Korea, Thailand, many many countries in S. America

If anything the U.S. and WEST should be investing MORE INTO MEXICO and South American countries, it’s a way to stimulate their economy, creating jobs and opportunities so they can further invest in their citizens, healthcare systems and infrastructure. We, invested in China, we created and put up the capital for China’s manufacturing and production so we as lazy American’s and westerner’s can buy cheap products off the backs of poor and oppressed people. Just ignoring the economic reasons WHY (at least the U.S. and Canada) should set its eye on Mexico and S. American countries as they are strategically important and beneficial. The Geopolitical significance of investing into these countries that have close proximity to the U.S. and would help counter China’s influence and stammer some of their coercion, it makes sense to invest in countries that TOUCH and BORDER your own, if they’re doing well, you’re doing well. It would help stabilize these countries, create opportunities for all parties, knock out immigration issues and be a win for everyone… but maybe China.

It would be a HUGE step forward by creating more stability and growth for all parties but most importantly under developed or struggling countries. I don’t understand why we are not doing that MORE. When you’re terrified of being robbed but then refuse to lock your home and instead leave your back door WIDE OPEN, what do you expect? China is already working these countries as we speak, they’ll give them money on unfavorable terms knowing full well that the debts cannot be paid, then they’ll get their foot in enough to get what they want, a base for their military operations to further counter and overtly threaten the U.S. which they continue to do in blunt forms.

No offense to India but they are but a next China, India only cares and worries about India, it has no “international interests” but rather “strategic interests”. They’ve also spent decades tying themselves to Putin and a heavy amount of Russian propaganda is repeatedly puppeted from their media and citizen’s. They constantly speak hypocritical “anti-western” narratives. Why invest and help build up a country (AGAIN) that doesn’t care about your country and instead spends its time and day puppeting Anti-Western propaganda, Putin talking points and has no care for anything or one outside of it’s own strategic and economic interests. That’s not a global leader emerging, that’s but a watered down version of XI’s China. No one needs that, no one WANTS that.

It’d be nice if we could for once STOP making the exact same mistakes over and over again.

  6. iPhone pricing is half marketing, half manufacturing location. Overall, it's a scam to keep it "luxury". So unnecessary.

  7. As a British Indian who just reactivated my parent’s icici bank account (a bank in India) after 7 months of a back and forth with them. All I have to say to apple is good luck lol

  8. I laughed on the part about security. China hasn’t done a good job of this since we’ve known about products (looks, specs etc) coming out months before they do.
