15. 20 years ago you could drive on that glacier in that spot. It is now a lake. I have walked from that glacier to palmer>>#snorkels are a must

28. Went to AK on our honeymoon. Absolutely would recommend! Everyone needs to experience the randomness of it. Outside of the big towns there's a lot of vehicles that i would classify as an 'Ed version of a poor man car'. In fact I'm pretty sure there's some locals that cry a little at all the "perfectly good useable cars" they jump off the cliff every July 4th.

37. Southeast Alaskan here, AK is not down south. Especially outside of anchorage(little Seattle) people will drive anything until the wheels fall off or the third frame weld fails. There is a surprising amount of car guys scattered all over the place. There is a lot of the “if I break it I can fix it” mindset, which makes for some really good times and really long nights!

38. Been to AK six times. It’s a crazy place. Whatever you think of it if you haven’t been there, you’re incorrect. It’s a wild, wild place.
