40 thoughts on “I bought a 6-Wheel Range Rover!

  1. How about a Cold War challenge? Touring imported former eastern bloc vehicular oddities around legacy Cold War locations throughout the USA. At one time impossible to even consider the two being together. Visiting old minutemen missile silos, NORAD, nuclear bomb testing sites, Area 51, etc. in Rear engined V8 Volga’s, ZiL’s, Trabants, Lada’s, Skoda, Kamaz trucks, all sorts of crazy stuff.

  2. I had another CarTrek Idea – Each of the 3 picks a car, no overarching theme. Could be an SUV, could be a sports car, could be whatever. Then, each of the 3 also creates a challenge; race, offroading, most storage. Now in order to prevent each person from just picking a challenge they would win based on the car they bring, on your challenge, you're also given a handicap. That way if you bring a supra and the other two have a sedan and an SUV, you don't just win your challenge of a race for example.

It would take some tweaking, but especially if you could actually "unveil" the cars to each other during the episode it would make it cool to watch. Imagine Freddy showing up in like an old MR2 Turbo thinking he's going to win a race challenge, but Ed or Tyler pulls up in like an old ZR1 corvette and smokes it. Could even do a spin off of the "dream garage" and have multiple cars/challenges. Fine tune it and you have a CarTrek series!

  3. Here's a thought for a Car Trek series: Do semi-off road vehicles (like WRX, SUVs, other adjacent things) and start near Moab, UT in the summer and do off roading from there and head east through Colorado (and you've GOT to do I70 through Glenwood Canyon, US 6 Loveland Pass, and Rocky Mountain National Park) and eventually end up at Omega for the Car Wizard as a final checkup. Summiting Pikes Peak in your vehicles would also be worth it, but that's a bit farther south and may be slower than you want to go.

  4. Conversion to 6×6 by adding a drive shaft from the middle axle back to it would be extremely difficult. But why not electrify it? You'd have an actual 6×6, and a one of a kind hybrid. Use Tesla parts and your slowmobile would be quicker than any other land rover on the road.

  5. It's unfortunate that somebody would go through all that effort of making it you know six wheeled rig but not going that extra step by having a second rear axle running.

  6. As weird as it sounds I would almost want to see a Cartrek with no cars you guys could call it Cartrek on foot where you started a set location and have to get to other set location all man or brain powered (so you could use public transit but no cars, trains, or plants.

  7. You guys could do a mini van challenge!!
When my kids were baby's, we had a Ford freestar that was a great kid hauler but was depressing. You guys should make bad ass mini vans for us dad's that did time in one

  8. I think a true, cheap car challenge would be awesome. Like, $5000-$10,000 budget to do a road trip. Maybe a 2904 kind of deal but without the cannonball aspect, just buy the cheapest and most interesting car for the money and see who makes it to the finish line.

  9. An idea for CarTrek could be an old school american muscle car them, 60/70 era. Find them on Autotempest, do cool stuff with them, maybe take them to a local car show, see if any of you can win an award etc..

  10. You guys could do a cheap family vehicle challenge but put the vehicles through ridiculous challenges like piling kids in for soccer practice, fitting the most groceries in a set time before you have to pick the kids up, and still trying to be the most showy so your friends and passersby still acknowledge you as someone who has cool stuff. 😂

  11. if you could only own 1 car challenge. Then do things like drop kids off or take a dog to the vet. Next a racetrack challenge. Then a cross country challenge. I'm sure you could come up with some other ideas too.

  12. Love this channel. Always great vehicles. Even love the random stuff in the background that isn't always apart of the story. For example, in this vid, that crane technique shirt!

  13. Yeash 85 thousand bucks for that, I was thinking 2 grand, 85 grand your in the ballpark of a lot of really great classics and the new Lotus that just came out that you really oughta take a look at Ed, plus you gotta rebuild and overhaul the thing to boot too, like I know you gotta get your money back but that is just too much senior
