44 thoughts on “How To MASTER A Short Veg Time & Flip To Flower FAST! – From The Stash Podcast Ep.217”

  1. Would sand count for silica while outdoors? In Wis Much before start of march the plant gets too big come May 15 the earliest plants should go out. They can make it planted on 4/29 also. have to judge spring. 2nd weekend of june the latest ive got them out. June 21 the light flips. Sex shows mid july. end sept mid oct normal end of tric milk to amber time frame.

    So ive been told anyway,

  2. I use 5gal food grade plastic pots.
I drill holes in the bottom + holes drilled every 3" starting at the bottom to top. Turn bucket 1/4 turn repeat hole pattern.
    Living soil.
    Hand water.

  3. I’ve had good luck with 3 gallon plants topping once and keeping two branches below the topping. You can fit close to 9 pots in a 4×4. All plants produce 4 healthy branches but depending on cultivar will stack and side branch differently. I go for flip on day 42 of veg. Get about a zip off each plant .

  4. You can go automation without much. I just built a fully automated system that has built in fail-safes, and even fail-safes to the fail-safes. Will even continue running in the event that the network is down for whatever reason. Does everything but raise and lower the lights, and trim the plants, but it will automatically calculate the temp, rh, and vpd for every week of the grow based on a couple user inputs, and will alert my phone, pc, and alexa devices in the case of any issue at all. Built it for about $50 and is does more than any system on the market, including the $10-20k commercial systems. Hell, it even monitors the devices and keeps a real time total for the cost of the grow. Floated the idea of selling the programmed boards, but I don'y know if I will or not.

  5. With hydro I veg for 10 days. With soil I’ll veg up to 3 weeks. Then it’s a light cycle of 13 on 11 off. Maximize the DLI during the flowering cycle, yet the plants flower as normal. Growing since 1989.

  6. Best thing you can do with those plastic pots is go ham with a drill bit. I like 3/8 holes all around the the bottom couple inches and you can mark it out to make the spacing look nice. Ive tried both fabric and hard plastic and regardless of pot the aeration is key. 3-5 gallon has always been fine for synthetic as long as im not vegging super long.. long enough for big roots though.

  7. Use well rooted clones in 1 gallon containers 49 fit in 16sq ft perfect
    No veg needed
    Straight to 12/12
Easy yield up to 2 pounds in 70 days
Actually the clones rooting time is the veg growth time

  8. The most ideal situation I think would be smaller containers, faster veg time, better results! Lately I've really been interested in trying to see what 1 gallon or 2 gallon pots can achieve. I really got going when I seen this dude growing these decent sized plants in Solo cups. His secret is he feeds them multiple times during a feed and he'll let it drain and drain so these plants are eating a longer amount of time during that feed, which results in decent-sized plants in little small solo cups. I think he uses the bigger Solo cups not the really small ones. He uses Coco coir, obviously

  9. I think transplanting all comes down if you're going Autos or photos. When I'm going photos outdoors I always start and really small containers, grow them out for a few weeks and move them outside. But for my autoflowers indoors I start them in their final containers, it all comes down to using the right watering methods at that point when you're starting in the final container.

  10. For aeration what I do is just run an air stone in the water for like 15-20 minutes, and then if you use like a coco coir mixed with perlite. Roots explode. My plant in roots organic original blend is outgrowing my plant in fox farm mixed with happy frog and ocean forest.

  11. Automation is one thing that helps but walking away and doing nothing means we need robot caregivers to pay attention, prune, move, nudge or eliminate un-wanted growth…..lets hope it doesn't come to that. For me sitting in front of my plants enjoying a morning coffee and looking in amazement at the last days growth is a very calming time of day for me. Where I am it's 4 plants max, so I have 4 outside and 4 in the basement, just incase there's prying eyes.
