  1. Dude Dillan, please please please don't just go to France for lunch or dinner lol. I don't know how much tickets are to France, but they are more than is affordable for the average person and going there just for lunch is literally insane.

  2. 18 joined the army+4 years=22…. He said he was 35 but took it hard for the first 15 years abiut the girl he loved…. Math aint nathing or bro is foing to be iver her in 2 years

  3. The first caller's story, I can really identify with. I'd like to add some additional context on what geck was suggesting, as I have done a lot of reading on this. He is right that in order to sooth that burden you carry, that dark past that you feel defines you. And its true that one cannot simply erase the past, nor try to run away from it. I feel in life, we sometimes encounter evil, which can take many forms. Whether its something evil done to us, or that we do, or are coerced into doing, etc. These things leave a hypothetical entity that is bound to you. Ancient people would call them a demon, early 20th century psychologist Carl Gustov Jung would call it 'the shadow', but modern psychologists call it 'trauma'. Alternatively to those personifications, I understand as a figurative 'ugly monster'. It's hideous, and turning around to look at it in the face causes terror and dread, but only we can see our own monsters. People cope in different ways, the impulses is to simply distract yourself, and pretend like this monster is not trailing behind everywhere you go. Sometimes people numb their senses with drugs cause it temporarily relieves the stress of being in the monster's presence. Both both methods are delaying the problem, and as you refuse to acknowledge the monster, all your fear and dread is syphoned out of your motivation and happiness, and into the monster; making it even bigger; uglier and harder to ever look at. There is only one solution, and it requires something incredibly painful, but you have to stop, turn towards this monster, and stare it in the eyes. You have to resist all urges to turn away, you have to allow this monster (trauma) to refresh itself in your mind. Whenever you had that experience, you dealt with it wrong, and that is what created this monster, You have to relive this horrible experience in your mind, by looking at this thing, and accepting that it will never go away, and that you can choose to drag yourself through the rest of life in misery, or tell the monster "look, im sorry I ignored you. Like it or not, we are stuck with each other. Im done being scared of you, we pretend like we are separate, but you are part of me, the part I detached from that fateful day. I understand why you feel wronged, and I am sorry, I forgive you. From now on we are a team, we're gonna make the beat of this. I wont hide you or ignore you, Im gonna embrace you, and people are gonna mostly accept it, and whoever doesn't, good riddance. Ill never be perfect, but can at least be honest with myself". So in more literal terms, you have to FORGIVE YOURSELF. That is FUNDAMENTAL. If you still bear guilt or shame, then the process isnt done
yet. Its not easy, but you will not love yourself until you embark on this journey. Until you forgive and love yourself, you will not be able to see hope in humanity nor will you truly love others, and feel worthy of their love. Until you feel worthy of love, and have someone loving you, then you will not be able to go forward in life from where you are. The main goal in life shouldn't merely be surviving. But you won't feel worthy of accomplishing more so long as you carry that regret, that trauma, that guilt, that self hatred. Carl Jung called this "integration with the shadow self". Good luck to you bro. The first step is the hardest one. Get a little momentum and it becomes easier. You followed your heart and did your best when you were young, and you deserve your own forgiveness. You dont deserve this self-hatred. You're human like everyone else man, I pray that you find your way to a better life soon.

  4. I’ll be honest, that advice on not putting your baggage as the defining trait first hit hard. I used to do that a lot but I think it’s harder when a person hasn’t carved out time away from the baggage nor have they explored who they are.

  5. In regards to self forgiveness and wanting to change yourself, I've come to realize that pursuit of toxic perfection bleeds into how you see others. When you’re constantly judging yourself harshly, you start to do the same with those around you, even if you don’t mean to. The moment you give yourself more room to be human and make mistakes, to come at your flaws from a place of curiosity instead of criticism, it becomes so much easier to make genuine connections and take others as they are.

  6. First guy: PLEASE WRITE! Or create in any medium. The thing that you mentioned about the war when realizing that ‘they’ were people and not evil. That is such a profound realization that is SO meaningful to share… especially now. And if you do settle on writing, realize that most people are not born knowing how to WRITE write. Take classes. Also, look into poetry, it’s not about rhyming, it’s SO many different things.

  8. Really hope the first caller finds his meaning, great job on helping and listening to him and really empathetically advising him Lyle. I can relate to the first caller a lot and wish him well <3

  9. referring to the last caller, I got scarlet fever when I was 5 in 2011 when me, my mom and sister were going around hotels while our grandma was in the hospital. I remember feeling itchy, sore, fatigued and really warm. apparently it is supposed to be painful to children when they catch it, and when we went to our pediatrician, she said she was surprised at the lack of physical pain I was expressing. I think about how this point in my life is when I was observably diagnosed with a higher pain tolerance

  10. First guy talking about how he was wasting his life just watching YouTube videos while I’m sitting here shirtless at 10am, hand in a bag of Cheetos, watching a green man dressed as a gecko give life advice lmao

  11. You're going to get to Paris and realize what everybody else in Paris realizes: that you're surrounded by more filth and garbage than you ever have been before in your life
