38 thoughts on “The Silent Plant Killers That Almost Ended Our Grow (And How We Survived) – FTS Podcast Ep.254

  1. I get better results when I wet the leaves and water the plants slightly before spraying. Wait until the lights go out. I do this with everything I spray.

  2. BT concentrate liquid gets gnats gone fast and forever. It’s the active ingredient in mosquito bits and mosquito disks. Harmless to everything except gnats and mosquitoes. Like 5 drops per gallon of water at every feed. Can even be used on seedlings day 1.

  3. I use insect frass for all sorts of things with cannabis plants it builds trichomes when the plant realizes it's their it thinks it's being attacked by bugs and pushes out more cannabinoids.

  4. I use insect frass for all sorts of things with cannabis plants it builds trichomes when the plant realizes it's their it thinks it's being attacked by bugs and pushes out more cannabinoids.

  5. I have had to deal with spider mites in later flower, its not that bad. It's really tedious, but it works. You get some tape and you use the sticky part to collect all the mites and webbing. You do this on a daily basis. I also drop my temperature to around 24°C. I noticed if your temps go above 27°C you are more likely to get spider mites. I will also release predator mites to hunt down the remaining spider mites. Spider mites suck, but they don't have to be a crop killer.

  6. Earlier this year (for our houseplants), we used sticky traps and watered with mosquito bits for fungus gnats.
One plant got spider mites, so I took it outside and sprayed it with a 1:40 mix of dish soap and water…Which kills others like scale and aphids.
Neem is actually medicinal for humans as well, they also make bathing products with it, and my toothpaste has neem.

  7. Mothballs everywhere hanging around your tent put 20 naphthalene and camphor Mothballs around and you have no problems just pull them last two weeks before harvest and their gone they hate them

  8. Something I've never heard of anyone getting is my made my own soil mix and when I brought it inside i had hundreds of thousands of young flies start coming out of the soil literally 100s of thousands of maggots moving in the soil million of flies not enough room for another foot on the sticky traps millions of flies all over the traps and soil never seen anything close to ir before like it

  9. Dr. Zymes claims it could be sprayed right up until the day of harvest which I have used quite a bit in flower. I mean, I never did it the day before but maybe a week before harvest and never noticed any weird taste or anything from it. It’s only citric acid..

  10. I ferment frass and use it dry in my mixes. Absolutely love the shit, literally. The ferment brings the stank like youd expect of fermented poop, but, the terps and resin production is next level.

  11. I've sprayed 4th week in flower just bud washed my plants yes I lost a little bit of yield but no taste or smell lost its like it never happened I use earth ally3'1 never got sick I used a hydrogen peroxide wash and lemon juice and baking soda wash with two plain water5 gallon buckets 30 seconds a piece shake all the excess water put a direct fan on them for 2 hours put it in the dry room with air circulation and start with 70 55 and gradually reduce the temp 2 weeks later put them in amber mason jars then 2 months later smoking quality flower

  12. All soil pests can be treated with boviera bastina. Mosquito bits usually don’t kill fungus nats mosquito bits are made with bacillus thuringensis what you want to use is bacillus Israelensis for fungus nats.

  13. had some root aphids and some thrips. DT always helped but the nematodes really knocked em back more than anything. always came from other houseplants 🤔

  14. I never used neem once and my boy that mostly only smoked my bud, got chs after buying a ton of keif all the time to throw on is bud

  15. I had these mealy bugs and ants moved in and brought them down to the root zone I could not kill them off I would spray with poison and the ants would survive underground with the mealybugs so I submerged the pots in water for 24 hours left just the plants sticking above the water seem to work drowned at the mealy bugs and the ants
