If you’ve ever wondered what FSOTD’s host, Blackleaf, considers the absolute standard for curing and storing herb, you’d be a fool not to tap in.

Blackleaf is joined in the studio by CVault co-founder, Ryan Parker, and Scott Swail, the North American Key Accounts Manager for Boveda, who’s been with the company for 10+ years to discuss all things herbal storage whether that’s keeping your head stash at the perfect humidity or controlling the cure and trichome deterioration when moving or selling large quantities of herb or even concentrate.

For the uninitiated, CVault is a company specializing in the production of airtight, stainless steel storage containers designed to preserve the freshness and potency of herb and other organic materials. They integrate humidity control technology, often pairing their containers with Boveda packs, to maintain ideal storage conditions.

Boveda is a 27+-year-old company that produces precision humidity control packs to maintain the ideal moisture levels for various products, including herb, cigars, and musical instruments. They utilize a patented two-way humidity control technology that adds or absorbs moisture as needed to protect and preserve items. If you’ve ever wondered about the CVault/Boveda connection, this pod unveils the entire backstory of how these two companies came together. You’ll hear Ryan and Scott explain why Boveda’s acquisition of CVault was truly a match made in heaven.

If there’s one thing you’ll hear during this episode, it’s Blackleaf’s undying love and rigorous implementation of CVault’s storage technology for all of his cultivation and daily consumption needs. Whether he’s storing big packs or carrying around a fresh batch of head stash, he swears by CVault’s stainless steel containers in tandem with varying sizes of Boveda packs. Everyone also weighs in heavily on how turkey bags are the absolute worst move for storage, especially when you’re stacking, and how undependable glass is for shipping bulk concentrate.

This episode truly identifies countless pain points of home growers and commercial growers everywhere, and how proper storage and humidity control play an utterly essential role in the final product. You can’t miss the part where Scott address the hearsay that Boveda packs “steal the terps,” and what this actually means.

For any true fans of cultivating or even preserving ultra top-shelf herb, you can’t miss a second of this episode with two serious pioneers in one of the biggest missteps in the industry—proper curing and storage.

  3. If it wasn’t for FSOTD I wouldn’t be up on game with the Michigan Market ! This episode reassured me that I’ve been using a really good product for about 5-8 years . Thanks for providing very useful information and conversations!

  4. What’s going on guys Boston Massachusetts hair showing you support and love for all the content getting ready to dab on some OG Barry Cherry concentrates in the East Coast with some sour diesel from the East Coast. Absolutely love your program hanging out with my four dogs right now bump in this on the JBL.😊

  5. Boveda’s are SO bad! It’s REALLY hard trying to listen to this episode with so much praise for such a terrible product. They rob your terps. Not save them. They don’t preserve your flower. They make it smell musky without any terps. We have tried them in every scenario. With Cvaults. With fresh flower. With cured flower. Diff rh% packs. Doing nothing would be better than using those imo.

  6. Great conversation guys ! Love the passion you guys have for our plant!Thank You for the great innovations.ive grown 30+years,can't believe how far this counter culture has come…cheers BL 👽

  7. Crazy to think about cuz I’ve been against the boveda packs , thinking it was actually doing the opposite and sucking out the terps. But then yet again I was doing so in a turkey bag , as well as into consideration was only my fourth season too . I have seen people use the sealed up food grade bucket with a screw top seems to persevere good . Gonna have to give your product another try soon. I mean how often does one have to replace the boveda pack ? So you mean that after coming off the line can go straight into the c vault and it cures and keeps nice to smoke . Hey I did notice how blue the smoke was which means it’s burning the hydrocarbons , translating to terpenes are combusting nice and haven’t left the flower . I’m still in the trial stage of seeing what works best for me . I like to hear feed back . Thanks brotha

  8. Changed my mind on bovedas.
Definitely helps preserve the therps in the bud.
Like they say. Just hav to amle sure to use the right one so it doesnt get too damp.

  9. After years of testing boveda myself i came to the conclusion that Boveda makes no sense for about 3 months after trimming.
Which is exactly the time frame i want to consume my product.

It’s true that the product is absolutely terpless with bovedas which no one really wants. The amount of terpenes « lost » is negligible. I want to smell my bud

  10. just got c-vault oz one lmao u got me. idk if bugging out I didnt see this on the patreron. I must've missed it . I use mason jars tbh bro I gotta get the large 5 P c-vault i didn't know it existed that big . CURE is the key bro ive seen gas dry out and smoke all fucked up .
