A Christian calls in talk about their fear of the eternal afterlife that is promised to them.
Afterwards a caller really wants to cancel a party he’s hosting 2 hours and a final caller prays to her cat as God.

I thought it was great Lyle. Just be you and your callers be them and that's the best version of the podcast.
This episode was awesome
I believe in the spirit realm and reality, as above so below
Eternity sounds like bliss.
St. Paul says we only see things in a limited way for now; "in a mirror dimly, but then face to face". Eternity is beyond our ability to understand, so trying to understand it will get you in knots over a conception that is not even accurate.
Last caller annoyed me a little somehow. Couldn't listen at all. Maybe it was just too much because it was the last call and i also ran out of social battery.
Loved the podcast tho
That christians story sound a lot like mine. Avoiding intimacy because of body issues like that doesnt necessarily mean its gender dysphoria, buuuuut…
20:10 I think those people who have never had to deal with that existential question, are people whose faith has never wavered. They believe wholeheartedly that every single bad or good thing that has or is going to happen to them is apart of that faith. An amazing amount of faith
Jesus Christ Is King..
People need the Bible 2.0, bc the current version is doing a bad job
I feel like I just listened to two callers who did not know how to describe their ideas into words and also didn’t understand the points that Lyle was trying to get at
which was “why cannot there be separation between sex & relationships?” and “why does religion see sex as inherently immoral?“.
The last caller 😮
If hell and heaven are both external, then after a bit wouldn’t you not notice any difference?
the cat lady was insane
In Heaven you're blended up into one of unlimited choirs, warbling forever to one of His unlimited Godheads. Hell is individual 'peace'. It's you, all alone, with yourself, by yourself, without end. Either way, what fun, huh?
What is this 3rd caller even talking about?
First guy is speaking my language.
I’d be waking up at eight years old having a mini panic attack worrying about both deaths and an eternal afterlife.
Staying busy helps.
You can be in your 60's and 70's and super healthy still dude
The first caller sounds like he has a bad case of existential OCD. Mine got better when I lost the faith and became happily atheist. 😅 10/10 would recommend
I'm gonna need to give you a text bro, I really appreciate your work man, ive been struggling to get a therapist n talking to you would be great
Caller #1 is on the verge of a psychotic breakdown. Should see a therapist, find new hobbies, and exercise asap.
"Ah geez rick" 🤣🤣🤣
To the guy that's having company over. Just let them inside the house. You're overthinking it. Way too much. These people seem like they're in their thirties and '40s. They're not going to destroy your house. They know how to act inside of a house. If the cats get let out then just bring them back in. These are not big deals. You're just making them to be.
The Bible and Jesus are extremely vague on what Heaven or "Paradise" actually is, how it works, what you do there, what version of you exists there, how time functions, etc. Almost all of the things that the caller is afraid of are ideas that people have come up with over the centuries. They are just ideas that the average person would assume to be paradise. It's highly unlikely that a God would make a paradise that only works for most people. Heaven could be completely different than what anyone assumes, too.
To your final point; sermons or lectures are popular in in moment, but new ways of thinking are what really stick around after our own train ride ends.
I got the vibe that the first caller might be gay/bi and suppressing himself which makes me sad if so. At the very least I think he would be happier still married to one person but not religious.
