    They eat it like that because if you didn't, you'd have eaten pounds of bacon by time the setup is finished. Depending on the scene and number of actors, there's potentially dozens of shots. If you ate it normally, you'd likely get sick.
    Watch basically any dining scene that doesn't specifically call for the character scarfing food… 9 times out of 10 they're just cutting up the food and not even eating it so that the act doesn't need to be repeated for continuity.
