27. I disagree with the assessment that you are required to have reasonable suspicion to draw a firearm at your side. In the coast guard it was authorized when deadly force was authorized or deadly force may be authorized. Pointing a gun at someone is different from having it at your side. We were taught that it still constituted as level 1 officer presence.
