19. This is just one of a number of scandals that has afflicted the UK in recent memory.
    We have so many inquiries on going.
    They all point to one thing; we have a problem with planning, performance and strategic thinking in the UK.
    This scandal has affected a relatively small number of people directly.
    However, the UK government decided to build a high speed railway to the North and it was cancelled at Birmingham, no where near its proposed destination and is all but a white elephant as we already have a line that goes there, admittedly not at the same speed.
    However, what really astonishes is the amount of money wasted and the costs incurred.
    Norway has a $1.4tn sovereign wealth fund and the UK could have had one too were it not for the fact that we wasted that too.
    Now we have massive debts and have sold mostly everything to foreigners including many US sovereign wealth funds that own our high streets.
    We are in a massive hole and the first rule as such is stop digging. Not us.
    Our Labour government is stoking the embers looking for money to the chorus of its supporters to tax the rich.
    Let them do so and it will be yet another fix of money that will be wasted.
    Two weeks ago the Prime Minister abolished an element of the government call NHS England which is a huge bureaucracy responsible for spending billions on health care.
    Its reasoning is that the 13,000 people in NHS England largely duplicated the work of another government department, the Department of Health staffed by 3,000.
    Waste and ineptitude.
    The Post Office scandal defies belief.
    No one knows who if anyone stole money because the software was absolute rubbish.
    You cannot make this stuff up. How you can prosecute and worse, wait for the people to die before paying compensation is amazing.
