Hope this video helps! If you have questions or comments about the harvest or cure, we’re happy to answer questions and even happier if you have some tips for us!
Note: BEFORE YOU CUT ONE STEM, make sure you have established a drying room where you can control the temperature and humidity.

How to Harvest Cannabis (Cutting Them Down)
Tools / Equipment:
Big shears/snippers
Small trimming scissors (fiskars)
Trimbin (nice to have)
Method:
Cut the branches (tip: remember to create a “hanger” for each branch)
Trim fan leaves off
Leave the sugar leaves on
Hang on hangers
How To Hang Cannabis For Drying
Tools / Equipment:
Hangers (ordinary clothes hangers)
Twine or twist-ties to secure stems to hangers.
Hanging wires or rods to put the hangers on (clothesline concept)
Objective: to dry the plants evenly
Have enough space between the branches / plants
How To Dry Cannabis
Tools / Equipment:
An enclosed room which can be kept dark.
Dehumidifier and / or humidifier
Fan
Heating / cooling control
Hygrometer / thermometer
Method:
Takes 7-10 days ideally.
Ensure air flow but not direct blowing at the plants.
Keep temperature cool to avoid rot/mold.
Keep the humidity low enough to avoid rot/mold.
Carefully control the temperature and humidity in the room
Old-school: 60 f / 15.5 C (we now dry at 68 F)
60% humidity
Keep dark
Approximately 7 -14 days
How to know when the plants are finished drying:
Feel them not crunchy and not “fresh)
Bend a stem.
Check with a hygrometer.
Dry-trim
When you think the buds are dry to 60% it’s time to dry-trim before jarring
Remove sugar leaves but save them for infusions / edibles.
Curing
Grove bag method works like magic – pop em in and keep dark & cool 3 weeks – boom.
Mason jar method – put them in jars.
How To Trim Cannabis (Dry-Trim)
Tools / Equipment:
Small trimming scissors (fiskers)
Nitrile gloves
Rubbing alcohol
Trim-bin (optional – ergonomic and traps keef!)
Method:
After checking humidity on first buds (57-62% Relative Humidity)
So why trim before you check them in the jar?
We are focused on getting the buds started on the curing phase ASAP; the trim is less important but We do cure it (separately) for infusions and edibles.
When the humidity is perfect, that 57-62% humidity range – what’s next?
There are two different methods i use for curing cannabis:
HOW TO CURE CANNABIS IN GROVE BAGS
Make SURE the buds are at the correct humidity (57-62% RH) BEFORE you put them in the Grove Bags.
Then just put the buds in the grove bags and leave them alone.
Keep them in a cool, dark place.
The room should be neither too hot nor too cold, 65-70 F.
Over 78 F degrades terpenes.
After about 3 weeks they are ready to smoke, but longer is even better.
The technology is proprietary so who knows how it works, but you don’t have to do anything.
The cool thing about curing in grove bags is that no burping is required.
The bags have humidity control in themselves.
No burping, no farting around.
How To Cure Cannabis In Mason Jars
Conventional burping seems to be releasing too much of the terps.
But the buds are producing CO2 gas which needs to be released, so you need to burp them
Here’s our method:
Starting week 1: once a day or so open them and check the smell and the texture
After that, we find that burping the jars every couple of days just for a minute or two is fine.
Burping the jars gives you a chance to monitor the smell.
If your weed has an ammonia or other foul smell, you might need to take the buds out and let them dry more.
If your nugs are sticking together in the jar, they may be too moist.
If you have any doubts about the humidity, pull out your hygrometer, pop it in the jar and check the humidity.
How long do you cure cannabis in the jars?
Once the buds are in the jars, they stay there for at least 3 weeks before they are cured.
Some say it’s like wine and improves with age.
How long can the cannabis stay in the jars?
We don’t know exactly – probably for years – it never lasts that long around here!

Very clear & concise. You're the first one I've seen explain how to get your first trimmed buds into a jar with a meter inside and where to go from there.
PSA: If you have one hydro-meter you can trust, you can use it to calibrate all the others, even the shitty black ones. SOME of those black ones are pretty close @ 60% and some are off by as much as 6% in either direction, as you said. I use a silver marker to mark the black ones +3 or -4, as the case may be.
Makes it look easy..:) I was thinking of harvesting the same way with drying the plant in smaller pieces to speed of the drying time. Thank you for the whole breakdown, definitely the best guideline to go by!!
i wish u would show how u work it to get 50 bud site
Thanks
Dont you trim them before you put them in the jar not after curing?
Appreciate ya 👍🏻
My dude u always keep it 💯
My "snap" is more of a pop. I like to feel the inner membrain pop… Kinda like doing plant chiropracti… The snap everyone speaks of, to me, is too dry.
This pop… Is my environment… At my altitude sets in a jar at 60-62. Ive been able to keep flower for over a year and it still has that soft feel. 🔥💨🦨✌️👊
hey bro been watching your show good stuff was wondering if you have dealt with quebec seed company ot toronto seed company and what did you think of there seeds if you have used um
awesome video and tips! love you guys …cccccooooomeonnnnn.
❤
Literally watching this while trimming 3 of 5 plants I took down, haha!
They're all looking pretty good but after 9 hours of trimming I'm not XD
Thank you for another entertaining and informative video, as always!
I am old “school”. I use mason jars. I have tried the Grove bags. They work as well. I just like the jars. Just for the smell. lol very good information! Well edited. Good job Mrs. Grow daddy👍🔥
Hey GD great job. By the way, home grown cannabis (Kyle Kushman) had someone on today talking about drying and curing. He confirmed a lot of your theories regarding 60/60. Check it out
🔥🔥🔥
Dopamine junkies 😂😂😂
Great info ! Very specific and detailed
I have tons of jars but then discovered grove bags
lol
I have like 10 grove bags various sizes
They are great!!
I cut down the branches – dry them out by hanging in my basement for a week
Then – once dried out enough (I use the snap test and the “feel test” to see if they are dry enough).
Once I determine they are good – I hand trim them down and Toss em right into the grove bags (and throw one of those small junky hygrometers in there lol)
After 3 days I go back and check the bags out
They all SMELL EXCELLENT and the hygrometer reads 58-62% so that’s the ideal range
Excellent info and I appreciate the effort and detail
Thanks!
Hygromometer 😂
Wait, that's not my Diana. lol
✌️😎🔥🔥🔥
Awww, C'mon!
I almost ran out of coathangers when drying a 3 lb grow. Had to double up some shirts to free up hangers.
I like to dry until the branch makes a breaking sound when bent, but prior to snapping in two.
