We need to work to over turn the dog sniff nonsense. The fact is that most of the time these are just pets that have been trained to "alert." There is no comprehensive testing or training for these dogs. The number of false positives is concerning.
I don't understand how they can demand someone step out for a dog sniff. Why does someone have to do a certain thing for them to do their sniff?
These grades are crazy. How do you give them a “C” for clear, racial profiling, violation of rights, and unprofessionalism?

Double the penalty for cops who knowingly or unknowingly break the law. In Court IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE! They are PAID and TRAINED to uphold the laws they violate!

I firmly believe if a dog which is truly properly trained to sniff out contraband. It should be able to compete the task with no coaxing from the handler. Meaning free, no leash, no following by handler. No verbal commands, no hand commands. Etc……

Police should be REQUIRED to keep records of how often there dogs supposedly alert vs how often there are no drugs, pointing to false alerts by the dog or cop.
I DON'T agree that sniffer dogs ARE less intrusive because:
a) Police almost ALWAYS illegally detain the person MUCH longer than necessary, and LEGAL, to force them to wait for the drug sniffing dogs (people should fight on THAT basis), and
b) Police can (and I think, do) LIE about dogs alerting, so they can illegally bypass the Constitution. The subject needs to be allowed to record the dog signals, and dog signals SHOULD have to be CLEAR and the same across the board, such as sitting, or preferably barking, as EVERYONE can hear that.

Its bs in my county, they call for backup on 90% of stops, which is ALWAYS a K9 unit. Wht did my county do when the Supreme Court ruling came down?! Tripled the k9 units!! They want every officer to have a dog tbh, but they stop you & k9 units use sirens & excessive speeds to get to the stop asap & treat it as the utmost dangers! The k9 will be there before the cop has a chance to "run your ID" , & they start writing the ticket verrrrry slowly too hahaha… I had bn pulled ovr & searched by the young buck, while the older officer was making fun of the young cops motivations hahaha & older cop was joking & we started a genuine conversation about his wifes hobbies , then the young cop came bk at me with attitude, of course, so old cop said to the young one "Give it a rest , he's good to go, We've wasted enough of his time" LMAO😂 but prob just playing good cop/bad cop tho, I still didnt fall for it, but shows how you can act civil & nice & 1 cop take it 1 way & anthr the exact opposite! Retrain ALL cops! Step up good cops bcuz yall protecting each other is making yall all look terrible! & you see why USA is soo disgusted with our militarized police forces!
Its bs, so police forces can take their sweeeeet time to run an ID, the dispatcher would be in on it, & simply stall to make the k9 sniff legit is bs! The Supreme Court ruled they cant delay you for even 10 extra seconds, but 8 mins is too late?!..
So if he answered the dog man, yes there has been drugs in the car, would the others tear his car apart.
