I remember getting up early on Saturday mornings, pouring myself a bowl of sugar-coated cereal, and sitting in front of the TV for at least 2 hours watching the cartoon lineups they had then. It was a truly magical time to be a kid, why did it go away?
i remember girls were actually feminine and cute …
I wish I was from back then. I’m trapped in the 21st century.
<GASP!> Suzanna Hoffs…side-eye….yeah, that's the one!! <swooon>
For me phones, cameras and maps in that order I'm happy is more fun simple and great these days compared to back then. Cool video. ^_^
If I wasn’t at the specific location I was supposed to be at when Momma was picking me up at the mall she would be pissed. 😂
Who remembers pen pals and television stations not running around the clock,
MEMORIZE PHONE NUMBERS !! I know all my closest friends and family by heart.
Good luck finding a watch battery, unless the watch is in the thousand of dollars. Radio and newspapers were a necessary.
In the long flight section you forgot to mention that when a movie played, it was often on one large screen at the end of an aisle that everyone watched at the same time.
Remember having only 3 channels? Not only that–but I think they went off the air at 10:00. I would always try to be in bed and asleep before everything went dark and quiet…
I miss the good old days.
I was born in 1988 and I still remember fond memories of the nineties before we had cell phones and all that
Remember doctors being annoyed if you had no smoking room at the hospital and they had extinguish their cigarette before coming into your "no Smoking room". Which cost you extra at the hospital of all places. The number of non smoking rooms were like the number of smoking rooms very few in each hotel. You had no smoking sections in restaurants and in planes, where you always had that A*hole smoker sit on the edge and blow as much smoke over the line as they could…..
Many British telephone subscribers learned „Switchhook“ dialling because – In the case of the standard GPO/BT rental telephones – The dial was often found not to work. In addition there was also the need to check the line was clear before use (And push a special button before dialling) as most telephones were on Party lines. ☎🇬🇧😋
Stock and Commodity quotes had to be taken from the Financial Times …And if you wanted to buy or sell, it was a lottery both that the stock was still at that price, and that you'd actually be able to get through to your broker within 15 attempts! 🤣
As a part of Governments new Levelling Up policies, there is a rumour going around that the procedure for using mobile (cell) phones will soon change in the UK. Gone will be the days of simply opening a contact and tapping „Call“ – This will be replaced by one pressing „Call“ straight from the home screen and awaiting a voice that will say „Number, please.“ 😉
Going out of town only using a paper map sounds terrifying to me lol
Great 😊
I want to go back to the 70s and 80s. I was born in 64. My Mom and Dad were there.😢. Everything was simple. People were kinder. I did all of this. Technology and getting things instantly has destroyed us!! Made us lazy!!
I love and hate remembering all this. Makes me sad!!😢
Please be kind, rewind!! 😎.
I love you tube, playing games, recording my shows, my cell phone. I would drop them in a heartbeat if I could go back!!
It is hell getting old!!
The only thing I miss on that list was blockbuster. It made getting the latest release a event. Having instant access has dulled the experience.
While I don't miss film cameras, I do miss the surprise of getting the photos in the small envelope from the developer and finally getting to see the pictures you took months ago.
There's varios fan clubs on Facebook but you don't get anything out of it in the 70s you got cool stuff in the mail
Things don't seem as special now.
I remember THE WAREHOUSE, especially when I dad did not have a major credit card in order get a rental VHS rental 😒
I miss the old days it needs to be the 70s and 80s again I hate today's world
I remember 1 hour Fotomat for pictures.
I refuse to wear a smart watch mi e is solar
I was born in 1965. This brings back memories that make me smile. It was a time when you didn't have cable companies to rob you every month. We didn't have a collection of encyclopedias, so I lived in the library. It was nice not having a cell phone. Your parents couldn't track you down. They had to take your word for whatever you said. We had one television. It was a 19" color television. I was glad it wasn't b/w. I didn't get my own bedroom television until I was 16 years old and had a job to pay for it. Today's kids will never appreciate these things. Parents douse their kids with state of the art everything. I've seen countless YouTube videos of Gen-Z whining that they shouldn't have to work. They talk like the world owes them everything. We were grateful for whatever we had.
