A top dressing of Neem seed cake helped with the fungus gnats.
I like all the creators around but I think Chris seems like an awesome dude. I'd be properly nice to everyone in the world if people acted like him.
Just want to say thank you to all 3 of u guys. With yall and the others and the community. I have had 2 successful grows. Learning from what everyone has been talking about. Yall talking about ur mistakes. So i didnt have to make them. Keep it up. Thanks again
Yo rob, science does not change ever….just our understanding of it does. Science isnt changing, we are just getting smarter
My IPM is growing healthy plants and keeping it clean, not bringing in any outside plant matter. Harvest after harvest, never had a single problem.
If you bring in outdoor plants to over-winter make sure you spray them for mites first .. thats exactly where my spider mites came from.
Had a killer fungus gnat problem with a new bag of soil 3 months ago. I saw a few flies when I opened the bag, didn’t think much of it; MB and sticky traps will take care of this. Oh no… that soil was majorly infested with the larvae. I dealt with them for a month. Mosquito Bits every water, and had to change out sticky traps 3-4 times a week; BOTH SIDES COVERED IN gnats. Have never had soil that bad off. I ended up pulling the plants and tossing them. The bits weren’t killing them off. They had gotten all over my house, it was a disaster. I ended up letting the soil dry out completely for a month and just use it for a synthetic grow. Not a single gnat or anything in the soil now. What a learning experience for sure.
BTI is the best for fungus gnats when you need to do a root drench. Submerge the whole pot in a bucket of BTI. Three times 5 days apart. Problem solved
All I use is water
Monterey has a great product for Nats and aphids

Yeah I gotta step my shit up, this video is a reminder. Great video guys! Fuck getting lazy with IPM. im gonna look into the rosemary/oil extracts. Only doing neem oil ATM
Sorry about the most recent episode comment,
I was watching it and got like emotional and went off,
Sorry.
Every season, aphids swarm my tomatoes… I just wait for the ladybugs to come feast and breed.
To keep your ducting and inline fans cleaner… Use panty hose. Over the inlets, this will keep them clean. If you noticethe hoes getting dirty, just vaccum the face of the hoes. If you get a hole just pull it enogh to tie a knot and cut the excess with the hole or dirt off.
Ive done this for years and works very very well. ✌️🤙👊
IPM all the way. In an insect emergency, though… Captain Jack's Dead Bug.
Crop defender! All natural, in small pump sprayer. Lasts forever.
-Desinfect the entire grow space between runs
– Desinfect the pots (boiling water/bleach ought to do
– Never buy soil from big stores where it lays outside for years and years
– Spinosad (or whatever you're using) in veg couple of times
– Keep your grow space clean, vacuum and wipe away dirt and soil off floor
– Have a good ventilation system under the canopy, as well as over it, couple of smaller clip on/USB vents positioned wisely do better than one stronger vent in one corner
That's it.
I only battled thrips once, but due to open custom made veg tent during summer, once I bought a proper veg tent, that was it really
Never ever battled anything else, and you ought to see the trees around my house – decades old chestnuts, maples, cherries.. literally riddled with pests.
But, as the old saying goes:
Only two types of growers in the world, those who fought spider mites, and those who are going to 😀
Let's see. Ten years and counting
Keep 'em growing fam
Peace
Any body I'm michigan know if the Pheno hut seed bank in Coldwater michigan is any good
Yew! you guys rock.
Just didn't touch on when and how to apply. Example neem will burn/stain your leaves under the light!?
I can't believe headbanger is gone i know that was your favorite Rob
Also IPM by Athena is great
Green cleaner works great. The essential oils get inside the insects and takes them out that day.
I rotate and foliar veg area every 2 weeks or so…Lost Coast Plant Therapy, Mammoth Cannacontrol, Dr Zymes.
Those are my 3 in stock in my garden.
I’ve used neem oil in the past and had a terrible experience with Safer 3 in 1 brand, even after washing a plant the Safer 3 in 1 is all I could smell. 🤢 Personal experience I think if used for veg like I use everything else the Safer 3 in 1 is probably excellent just not one I recommend for mid/late flower issues.
Still amaze at growing plants without the sun or be outside can be a preferred method. Love the show from Bangkok.
Mustard Seed meal for Fungus gnats. EM5 and Saponin for sprays. Dr. Zymes for everything else.
For my IPM I alternate between neem oil and milk sprays as my main problem I am trying to prevent is PM
Also.. kangen water.. spray 2.5 ph solution and then spray the 11.5ph solution five mins after.. eradicated mite infestation mid flower and passed testing in okla. Expensive but worth the investment in a commercial grow
You can mix evergreen and mammoth together and add a pyrethrin. I've had great luck with that.. but do not add a surfactant I've seen whole rooms burn
Pigeons got the right regimen, follow his lead, he was correct about everything especially about the neem oil which is totally fine to use in the garden.
Wow Rob, a little PM is NEVER a reason to trash the whole crop. Super easy to get rid of especially the ones in veg. Lost Coast Plant Therapy or just citric acid and alcohol in water and its actually beneficial to the plants as well.
