What’s in the interview?

Hello David, please tell us a little bit about yourself.
A botanist degree from Ohio University, what was your discipline?
Do you feel everyone needs a degree in botany to understand TC?
What kind of barrier to entry is someone looking at?

You are an expert in tissue culture – what is tissue culture?
Can you outline the basic process?
What is the Callus method?
What does a TC SOP look like?
What is the process of making an agar solution at home?
Can you give us an example of an agar recipe for our listeners/viewers?
Do you just take a clone and sit it out in the water and wait till it roots or gets a node?
I’d like to talk a little more about the disease resistance of tissue culture –
I read that tissue cultures are taken from meristematic tissue, which helps prevent viral diseases. What makes the tissue different from others?
How does it work to create disease resistance?

What kind of benefits has been shown outside the cannabis space?
More and more cannabis growers are turning to tissue culture, what are the advantages of TC in-home use, small business, and large-scale production?
How do you utilize TC at scale?
What is genetic drift?

I’ve heard you are passionate about and have a vast knowledge of genetic engineering specifically for cannabis, how does tissue culture play a role in this?
Can you tell me about your plan to make a powdery mildew-resistant strain?
How do you engineer your terpenes?
What is Golden Rice?

What are your predictions for the future of tissue culture in the cannabis space?
# of growers adopting the technology?
The fate of seed companies?
What is QPCR?

Is there anything else you’d like to talk about that we didn’t get a chance to discuss?
Do you have any new projects or plans you can tell us about?
Any new tech coming out that will impact the tissue culture process?

  1. As a genetic engineer and micro/molec biologist I really love seeing this kind of content! Although now I have to ask where you're getting gene synthesis and plasmid on boarding for $200?!

Always down for talking shop (if you're into tissue culture or genetic engineering)!

If you want to do any engineering projects let me know. There's a gene out there that nearly doubles overall plant mass and 7x's leaf trichome production that I want to put into some medicinal plants 😉

  2. U need to have on the the creator of moabgenetix. The brining back roadkill skunk is an epic 2 year story. Sourcing everything from foreign to dogmatic genetics. Only to hunt the true skunk genetics after cycle after cycle to recreate roadkill skunk! Its back baby!!! Rks
    Moabgenetix

  3. Felt asleep watching a vid… woke up to this… only one thing wandering my ears: Tissue Culture… heard of this strange prude US thing, but didn't know sb would discuss it… toilet paper is called bath tissue nowadays ok let the Amis do their ' I'm offended thing' but really this I now the Name? Tissue culture: when you avoid nudism on TV and watch a War Movie with your 13year old instead.

  4. Here is the newest omma public hearings meeting, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USBwGtueloE For anyone at growers network, this is a MUST watch, the public comments from all the people in the industry here in Oklahoma, is CHILLING and super insightful into whats been going on here, Our state is in very troubled waters. Also I told my favorite grower here, Zenoa cannabis about that sweepstakes thing, and where he needed to go to enter ! I really hope he does it and you all see Zenoa Cannabis on there, he could be doing some good things for Oklahomans with that prize money in free grow equipment upgrades. He has the most potential I'v seen so far here. I did all I could and told a employee at his dispensary about it, who is supposed to give the info to him.

  5. 1898 A German Botanist gottlieb habrtlant father in creator of culture biology start tissue culture, In 1934 in 1939 there was three scientists call Gauthret , White, Nobecourt , Due to discovery cof plants growth regulator such as auxins and vitamins , During next years (1940 to 1969) a variety of growth regulators such as cytokinins were identified for ther effect on cell division, growth & differentiation, witch After 1960, in vitro culture of plants Cell, tissues and organs was reasonably well developed. A Research in this area was initiated in early 1960s by Prof. P. Maheshwari and prof. S. Narayanaswamy at the Department of Botany, University of Delhi in India . Consequently ,media and culture techniques for variety of plant materials become known, which are now extensively utilized in all areas of plants or plant improvement programmes

  6. Oh btw! They spray immigrant farm workers in the United States too. It’s in our tap water as well. due to poor spraying practices.

I had a greenhouse that was as far away from a field as possible. Landowner sold most land to farmer so the farmer pushed his field as close to my hemp greenhouse as possible. I CAN NO LONGER FARM. The farmers a severely UNDER EDUCATED.

This farmer told me “you’re not the problem it’s the deer hunters with food plots they piss me off I make sure to spray extra wide and extra heavy around their shit” FUCKIN IGNORANCE 🤡

  7. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD. (Psalms 14:1-4)

  8. Funny how after Athena releases their TC kit micropropagation, it is bow becoming vogue. TC is the gold standard for AG its only newer technology in cannabis. It's amazing how far ahead yet far behind cannabis is from other commodity crops.
