Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl took a moment out of a recent show to address the Everlong controversy. Foo Fighters have famously performed Everlong at the end of every show for many years.

  1. She doesn’t have anything to do with it 🙄 this is why we need to stop making relatives of celebrities celebrities themself or even communicating with them in general.

  2. Of course when you go to a concert you expect to hear some song(s). But unless the ticket specifically says so (which I haven't seen ever), the band is not obliged to play that exact song that you want. And of course if you are a fan of the band, you really want them to play anything. And you definitely do not theaten them or their families… wtf

Like, I was at a Sabaton concert recently. They did not play No Bullets Fly, or The Final Solution, which are some of their best song that I wanted to hear live. They played some newer songs which are now amongst my favourites now as well after that concert – I got totally hooked on Father, and also Dreadnaught

  3. Everlong is the only song of theirs I really like, so I can understand. A lot of people probably agree to go to a concert with friends because of one song they know and like and then they don't hear it, it would be a let down.

  4. At least he went on the rant then played the song. I would boycott the song because of people harassing my kid. You ruined it. Won't play it again.

  5. Foos are one of my favorite bands ever, I've learned to play guitar and drums with their music, Everlong was the first full song I've learned on guitar, but I would trade it for the teacher on the setlist easily

  6. I've been to see them twice. Both amazing concerts. I wouldn't mind them leaving Everlong out at all. They have so many great songs. I would love to hear an obscure back catalogue set from them. That would be epic

  7. You have to play your biggest hit every night. It is what it is. I understand the curfew thing, and contacting his daughter isn’t acceptable, but the fact that people were disappointed is understandable.

  8. I agree with you and it's hysterical that get so triggered by it. Dave's response was the best!

I went to see Boston Third Stage concert. They played ever single song from their (then) 3 albums, except the one I wanted them to play: "Smoking." I was probably disappointed for 2 seconds cuz quite frankly, it was an amazing show and I wasn't going to get bent out of shape over one song. lol

  9. People unfortunately are just weird and have nothing better to do, but complain. In 2015, I was nervous that they wouldn't come to Toronto after Dave broke his leg. Thankfully they did and opened the show with Everlong.

  10. They must be so shit bored of playing it that it's lost all feeling to them! And it's very annoying to the artists themselves who want to move on from some of those songs and find new avenues of creativity. I recall that Radiohead stopped playing Creep live because of those expectations. At this point, a lot of these big bands have so many hits they can't possibly play all the ones that people want to hear. I don't think Dave expressed it exactly the most appropriate way, but I agree with the sentiment.

  11. Bruh, are people serious here? I have NEVER gone to a single concert feeling any sort of hardcore demand for any particular song. Hoping for songs is fine, but you should fully understand without any sort of delusion that you might not hear that song you're hoping for because their setlist can literally be any combination of whatever songs from their catalog. This is also what makes shows amazing to go to. You never know what you might get until you're there at the show. People need to get this through their heads and be cool with it and keep it moving

  12. You DO NOT mess with someone elses child. Especially when that child had absolutely nothing to do with it. Also yes i might have been a bit dissapointed but they dont OWE you anything. Also they have probably played 20 more songs before that so it wasnt like they were getting short changed. Foos play massively long shows. People need to grow up.

I also think that Violet has a thick skin as by the sounds of it she didnt get upset as i think he would have been pissed then.
