8. idk man i have both strains growing and it was my first time growing, i harvested my sativa and the head high was definetly there, and smelled totally different compared to my indica growing right next to it. i got the seeds from a bud that was given to me, i put that sob in my grinder and found the seeds, planted em, and now have 1 sativa and one indica, they grow buds completly differently and smell way different, ill get back to this video after smoking my indica, it looks ready but im letting it go a couple days more

11. I have always been saying that indica is way better pot. In my opinion it is because it generally has higher levels of cbd when grown naturally. It is not really fair to test strain differences when the growers are interested in manipulating the plant to mainly produce THC, and not CBD along with the other natural terpines at the levels the would occur if the plant was grown from seed, and without trying to manipulate it. Now I agree that they will both give you the high that most people associate with a sativa. The "body high" people refer to with indicas is rediculous. Indica is usually quite stoney weed depending on the grower, and the curing process. The real difference is the shape of the plants, what lattitudes they grow best at, and flowering times. Weed that grows really good near the equator will be schwag at best if grown at a higher lattitude.

14. Excellent video! Noble effort. Everything you say is true, yet, you overlooked what I believe is the "true explanation" of the ongoing sativa/indica controversy. Here is the difference: The original NA wild cannabis strains clearly were sativa both in terms of morphology and in terms of incredible mind bending effects. Those same land race and early hybrid strains are still available in limited quantities here in Ok, and this is the only way to experience those same mind bending effects today with certainty. Intelligent growers continue cross breeding with emphasis on marketing factors such as yield, disease resistance, flowering time, THC content, smell, appearance, etc. Unfortunately none of these factors have anything to do with the quality of the high. An entire generation has never tried genuine North American sativa. IMO the market in Ok county, with 500+ dispensaries, is slowly changing back toward the classic strains, judging by the price trends.

20. The terms 'Sativa' and 'Indica' have been used in botany long before Cannabis was incorrectly seperated into two main vararites. Sativa, sativus, and sativum are Latin botanical adjectives meaning 'CULTIVATED'. Plants like parsnips for example go by the scientific name- 'Pastinaca Sativa' and the Pea plant- 'Pisum Sativum' and 'INDICA' literally means 'From INDIA' eg Neem oil or as its know by as its scientific name 'Azadirachta indica A. Juss. Or another example is MANGOS- 'Mangifera Indica'.
    The term EQUATORIAL is also misleading and imo is also wrong when referring to 'Sativa' types. The Cannabis industry has a history of using incorrect terminologys such as BX/BC, IBL/IB and or F1/S1/R ect no where else in botany would this be acceptable but for some reason its become normal in the canna world.

22. Gotta disagree here. I do not beleive it is a lie just outdated. Breeding has ensured 99% of strains are hybrids now and that is the problem. Its objectively obvious if you go smoke some landrace sativa its, racey and paranoia inducing. vs a landrace indica that feels calm and stoning. Being an older head it feels like getting your hands on a pure sativa or pure indica is the issue here. We were not imagining those effects!

24. Ugh yes. But as a budtender customers don’t care and exclusively shop with “indica/sativa/hybrid” mindset. But those effects they attribute to “indica” or the others are actually all in the terpenes, so that’s what I wish people would pay attention to.

39. Yet, Landrace Sativas still are much more enjoyable to me than landrace Indicas. There is a difference. Now, with modern hybrids, where strains are largely classified as Indica and Sativa based on "feel" them perhaps this is so. But with the landrace strains, I definitely feel a difference.

40. THC is THC. 👍 I think indicas might be more couch lock because they age faster, go amber faster? There's also more vegetative matter with denser indica buds with less trichomes getting hit by the sun. Where as sativas take longer to age and put out a bit more heads per amount of leaf. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Hence the hybrids trying to get the best of both worlds; potency, weight, and speed. High THC indicas.

43. Hey bro, i love your content, and i completely agree they're both the same. Most if not all plants nowadays are hybrids, we need not worry about characterization of cannabis. All i care about is the taste and the smell, treat it like a whiskey.
