A note of interest about “Talahina”. She was the sister of Martha Rogers Chisholm. Martha was the mother of Jesse Chisholm. They were related to Will Rogers.
That was tender and tragic thankyou takecare
Chulo cemetery in Cherry Tree Oklahoma
Sam Houstons wife has an interesting story. She was of mixed lineage. She and Sam married but when he wanted to go to Texas she didn't want to. It's said they still loved one another but she did remarry, but he didn't remarry until after she died. A couple of articles about her are online
Appreciate you
Vivia was just a overly obsessed stalker. 😮
I really enjoy your video tours of the different graves and cemeteries! You should check out Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, TX. I do not know if anyone famous is buried there, but it is unique for two reasons: it is in two counties and the mausoleum is actually underground (kinda defeating the point). Thanks for your videos!
🎼🎶 I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee 🎶
If there is a stone in the graveyard for a make that died two days before her that would be a pretty good place to start investigating to see if you can find him. Because if you can find it might more substantiate her story.
Hi I'm a 17 year old history and Newswriting student, and I am new to your channel because of your 1970's food video.
As a girl who has an old soul and only loves 90s and 80s stuff, I really enjoy your videos so far! This video is interesting and I would love you to be my teacher someday because your videos are inspiring and very interesting..
If nobody believes an adult or grandparents' story telling, then I'll be the first teenager to believe even if it's real or not. I'm interesting in learning about historic times!!!😄
I really really love history btw!! Please make more good videos!!😀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ending of fallout plays. War never changes. 😪
Hey Rhetty, Shiloh Gardner here I’m locked out of my usual channel til I get my tablet fixed. But have you ever checked out Twin Mounds Pioneer Cemetery? It’s very cool lots of history also involves Alexander Posey as that was the town or Mounds original name. Located south of Glenpool.
Such a cool story! Keep em coming you rock!!
They will all face God, the gospel for salvation 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, buried and rose the third day according to the scriptures.
Great video Rhetty Thankyou
Great story thanks for sharing
Great story. Romantic. There were a number of women who served and dressed up as men, and in the Civil War.
Intriguing legend!
Wow, thanks for sharing this fascinating story!
Very sad tragic story. As always, I just love your channel! Stay safe out there on the road Rhetty!
Like you said They Are All In Good Company 🌹🙏
Hope to get out to all that history one day!
Wow, That is an amazing story. Thanks for sharing.
great story another of so many one of the things i love about americans is there patriotism oh and just a little fyi we canadians won that war of 1812 lol keep up the great work
The story of Vivia was fascinating!! I really enjoyed seeing this beautiful cemetery. Another great video 🤩🤩
Wow! Either way, made up or not it’s a really interesting story. It’s probably more true than false.
Thanks. Good story. Think this Billy Bowlegs is the one the town of Bowlegs is named after.
Rhetty, I just recently found your channel and subscribed. I only subscribe to those channels who give sound, solid info. and yours made the list. Thank you for providing videos of such good quality. Vivia Thomas…I'm surprised that she was able to conceal her gender as long as she did. What a tragic death!
Thanks for sharing this story🪦🕊
thank you Rhetty
Fascinating story. Thanks.
Another fascinating story! No one ever wins a war….some just lose more than others.
Was nice to relax and watch the videos after the storms that raced through Texas yesterday. We came through unscathed.
Great story, I would love to visit that nicely restored fort!
Lincoln New Mexico was one of my best old west stops. Second only to Deadwood
Reminds me of the legend of Petite Jean of the Arkansas Petite Jean State Park without the murder. Petite Jean is buried on a cliff overlooking the Arkansas River. Really beautiful place! Great love story.
Great episode! I looked up General Sam Houston, recognized his name, seems like he was illegally married to that Houston woman
I don't know where but I've heard of this story some time ago, did they ever make a movie or Documentary of it Rhetty? Must have been a real heartbreaking moment after realizing what she had done. Thanks for sharing as always.👍
what an interesting story Rhett. So sad when she regretted what she had done, Hope she has met up with her man in the aferlife.
Another great story Rhett. My Dad, Grandfather and Grandmother are buried not far from where you were standing. Over along the road where the small square stones are. It's a beautiful place.
Very interesting video my friend, may your efforts be blessed. Thank you for sharing 🙏
A very interesting story and a sad one indeed, thanks Rhett for sharing
🤠✝️🇱🇷
EVERYONE LOVES A GOOD GHOST STORY 👻
Rheddy, what a GR8 story you told today so, I loved it!
❤️❤️❤️
Since I started living in Oklahoma in 2003, I had been told this story. I just never learned her name until listening to you tell the story. Thank you. In the Boston picture, it looks like the Old North Church is in it. I grew up north of Boston in Beverly, but for ease of where that is for those that do not know, it's right next to Salem, MA. I lived there too for a while. Many years later finding out that my third floor apt was not far through a little woods, very close to the actual witch hanging place! Not only that but I used to walk my dog in Gallows Hill Park which was right across the street. Lots of very old cemeteries all over the area that myself and friends explored as well.
Great story Rhetty, I’m not surprised at all that she hoodwinked everyone in believing she was a man. I just watched a video on the civil war and it showed some photos of woman who managed to enlist as men so they could fight. It showed their female picture along side one of them dressed as a man, it was amazing (they definitely could of fooled me)
I’ve seen a few comments saying: if it was a true story, but she is buried there under that name so it would have to be wouldn’t it ? If it is, it’s not so romantic after all. He lost his life for a very silly reason on her be half. Loved the story though. Thank Rhett ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺
Beautiful cemetery. Sad story. Love(maybe more obsession) makes some do crazy things
Very interesting history in this one. My Uncle used to talk about Vivia Thomas when I visited him. He lived in Stratford and Ada.
