33 thoughts on “NO Pantera Reunion Without Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell

  1. You know would have been way cooler is Metallica doing Pantera covers that's a tribute!!!!! When they're making money off of the name Pantera that doesn't really feel like a tribute it feels like disrespect. You have to know the whole story I mean you got to be a die hard Pantera fan and go all the way back to the beginning to know why people are mad . Phil and Rex had multiple opportunities to get this band back together and Vinny didn't go ahead with it because two of them original members were not down but now the time and Vinny are dead now they come back and want to make money off of the name Pantera thats just the tip of the iceberg.

  2. The Abbott brothers are no doubt rolling over in their graves. Vinnie Paul was clear on his feelings about this. Its a money grab for those very selfish individuals that are only exploiting the name and music, and those foolish enough to buy into this BS "tribute" story.

  3. Here's a message to the Pantera fans I was lucky enough to be working backstage at the universal Amphitheater in California and I happened to catch the show and was lucky enough to also meet them face to face and talk with them before Showtime let me say this a lot of people are complaining it's not Pantera without dime and Vinny I get it but the two of them are sadly no longer with us but they're with us here in spirit but the thing is to Survivor members are Phil and Rex now they both got permission from the estate of Pantera and those involved which is a blessing now this is a tribute to the brothers to the music to the legacy of Pantera now if the show ever hits the United States I will be glad to grab some tickets to go see the show if I can't then I'll buy it on Blu-ray when it comes out it'll be the next best thing to be in there but for the people out there need to stop crying and whining about it and just go to the show because this generation needs to see Pantera the younger generation today we aren't getting any younger we're getting older a lot of our favorite rock and roll heroes are going home and we need to enjoy it while we can so go to the show you'll be glad you did thanks.

  4. Facts, if Vinnie and Paul can call pantera pantera after kicking out the original singer, so can Phil. Facts, Phil MADE the pantera that made it big. No Phil, no pantera. Facts, this version of pentera is actually better live than pantera in the 90s

  5. It sounds really bad to be burtally honest. Sounds like s Tribute band. Something off. It's deffo in zaks area too. The have downtuned or something because Phil's voice is shot.

  6. I think Dime and Vinnie's Estate have dishonoured the brothers by doing this under the Pantera name. Vinnie's words are embedded into history NOT approving of other members under the Pantera name. I have no doubt that Dime would agree with his big brother… But be cool with it under a different name. It's all about the money with the convenience and umbrella of claiming this is for the brothers and the fans. I call that complete BS. I don't care if the estates were the brothers girlfriends… That doesn't make it right. They COULD of gone about it the RIGHT way instead of dividing the fans but chose not to… Why? Because far more money will be made under the Pantera brand. Anybody that doesn't realize that is completely and utterly gullible to the propaganda marketing being sold to them.

  7. I wouldn't be surprised if the now canceled Van Halen Tribute was the inspiration for the Pantera Tribute run. At least we got *something*. Looking at the recent clips of the tour, the stage show looks awesome, Phil is in top form, Charlie sounds great, and Zakk is Zakk playing Pantera tunes with Rex holding up his end of things. So there you go.

  8. There will never be another Dime or Vinnie period. That being said I personally think there couldn't have been 2 more humble and respectful people to play with Rex and Phil to bring back the legendary songs Pantera made.
R.I.P. Saints Vinnie and Dime S.D.M.F.

  9. …is what they have created bigger than them selfs, is their Art bigger than the individuals, are they "just" the transmitters of what was created through them, and if so, isn´t it the best to get it on stage and let it live or is Vinnie right and they should not have done this? I´m thinking about it…

  10. As a musician, I have been a fan of every member of the new and old line up of Pantera. Anthrax, and all shades of Ozzy. They are some of my first metal music experiences. When dime and Vinny past on to light it collectively changed me. The whole ordeal about Pantera and the details of Dimes last moments all seemed really unfair. Then Vinny and I was done. As I was also changed meeting each of them, the first time. More people I've known have died to soon the past two decades than ever. It really left a sour note (scar), in my heart. I'm not the only one. We are all grown ups despite how some of us may act. Grown ups do what they want. This crazy experience "life" means we have to let go of the dead to move on. Make no mistake, this is about money for tickets and overpriced merch and beer and hotdogs and parking. Just like a traveling carnival, and they don't have to give a large percentage of touring to some record company. A sacred reunion would be in private for remembering and would be for vip guest. This is about money and potentially lots of money.

  11. Sounds great, but it ain’t Pantera.
I was lucky enough to see them 3 times and if people can go and enjoy this then good luck to them. At the end of the day it’s a really heavy concert and there ain’t anything wrong with that.

  12. The band know it themselves that its for their fallen brothers. Its some media that portray it to be otherwise. It is NOT a reunion, its tribute concerts in rememberance of the Abbott brothers. If you listen to their Mexico show theyve clearly nailed the sound. Ill be going no questions asked!
