  1. what? that's what made them popular, they sold out after the black album, now they are just a bunch of rich old farts who forgot how to make good music….tssss disappointing

  2. I think he’s referring to the bickering and fighting that went on between the band members. All the stuff that came to light in the Some Kind of Monster documentary

  3. Oh zip it Kirk 🙄 starting to lose respect for him. Latching onto to media buzz words/phrases. Really enjoyed an interview with him done by another media outlet, don't recall which, but with this…now questioning my initial impression.

  4. I love Metallica they're my favorite band I love James but this apology was so unnecessary or whatever it was, they were not being "toxic masculine" they were just being young guys doing their thing
And they were so god damn cool

  5. When someone speaks about “toxic masculinity” they lost my respect. Kirk is an awesome lead, but he seems like a guy who would raise his son to play with dolls. No thanks Mr. Woke.

  6. Ok Kirk will you banned mosh pits around the world and does this mean you will not play any songs Kill Em All or Ride The Lighting or Hotwired or the Masculine titled Load album LoL Can Jim Brewer still make Masculine jokes about Snowflaketalika I mean Metallica Hey can I get my money back for being a fan for 38 years and being in a mosh pit at Day on the Green years ago or when you played with The Cult and Queensryche many moons ago is The 3 minute song for TIK TOK generation guest I wasted my time living and loving Metallica just like Star Wars saga became Woke Kirk and Lars are making Metallica Woke. I don't blame James and Robert for this Nonsense. Thanks for nothing Kirk.

  7. People in the comments being pissed about this while not realizing that they're literally proving Kirk's point lol
But fr, as someone who has a lot of knowledge in this topic, toxic masculinity is NOT regular masculinity. It's the desire men have to be as alpha and strong and tough and emotionless as they possibly can, to fit the social standards of "masculinity". What Kirk is basically implying is that there is nothing wrong with men having a so called "feminine" side by the way they dress, like Kirk does by for example painting his nails or when he used to wear eyeliner. And everyone who considers this a bad thing is surely one of these Metal boomers that are convinced there hasn't been any good Metal music since the 80s lol that's just embarrassing, catch up with the times yall.

  8. I'm a woman who likes metal. I don't see metal music as toxic but I do see the wussification of things as toxic. I like songs that lull you peacefully in and then punches you straight in the ears with thrash like Fight Fire With Fire and Battery. I don't like wussy crap like Justin Bieber. That's not what I came to hear when I go to a metal concert. I came for the METAL. m/

  9. Kirk hammet doesn't deserve to be in the biggest most known metal band in the world! Especially after saying something so dumb. Hey Kirk your toxic feminism is showing. And well Kirk , your wife called me and said she wants her nuts back

  10. Kirk Hammet is the most female looking out of them all and is the least masculine out of all of the metal bands and even more than the glam metal bands 2 not even joking either thats the sad but true part.
    ………..

    ….

    …..

    ..
But Its time to come out of the closet Kirk! Even the glam metal bands are more manly then you duddet and crush more manholes then you Kirk you only pinned the holes of 200k dudes manholes 2hile all the glam metal bands only nailed 195k

  11. It's funny that when y'all's favorite guitar guy says hes sick of his behavior, his fans turn and start to look like what's going on in the comments section here. When a person who IS toxic is called out, they double down. It's the accountability that matters. Good on Kirk

  12. Oh wtf Kirk, I listened to Metallica for pretty much 28 years of my 27 year old life. My parents listened to Metallica before I was even born, it played a big part of my fixing my anger issues as I grew up. Don't pander to new age feminism its a dead end that will loss that connection from you to your fans

  13. “Stoicism” can be harmful if it’s the only acceptable form of handling one’s feelings, causing an inability to let out one’s emotions. In “toxic masculinity” boys and men are not allowed, nor encouraged to show their feelings, such displays of emotion are often labeled “weak” in our society. This leads to a “bottling up” effect, whereby natural emotions are internalized, and compressed until a breaking point is reached, at which time said feelings and emotions can erupt outward in the form of misdirected anger and/or patterns of destruction.

  14. Wtf, Kirk?! Aggression channeled into something productive is not toxic. An aggressive kickass riff is not toxic. Please don’t make me rip up my snake pit tickets; they cost me a lot of money.
