did i know i would cry…? yes. Did i watch the whole thing anyways…. ? also yes.
Imagine being remembered this way. What higher aspiration could there be in the world?
What a wild ride. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look at the Muppets the same way ever again.
bro this made me full on sob and i see every jim henson performance and production differently than i ever did before
And I'm sobbing
I’ve loved the Muppets since I was a kid, but I didn’t know there were whole TV shows featuring them and other puppets until I got older. I’ve watched this whole series out of order, but I didn’t expect this last one to leave me sobbing for a man I never met, but whose optimism and creativity have impacted me for decades now. Keep creating, Mr. Henson. Thank you.
I can’t remember the last time I cried this hard. I’m a wreck.
This series really rocked. I laughed cried reminiscing about all these shows and times in my childhood. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for honoring this incredible person. I shall now cry for a few hours.
HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME CRY 😭 but this entire series was beautifully done and you left no stone unturned.
Henson died because he refused to go to the hospital, until it was too late.
I keep this video bookmarked for whenever I just need a good cry.
I completely understand his creative drive. Wanting to make everything he can, share it with the world before he was gone. Honestly, a lot of his interests in movie making and set design, re-envisioning story telling, resemble my own.
Am I the only one who cried when I saw big bird singing then thanked Kermit afterwards?
I can happily say that I haven’t cried for 35 minutes straight too many times in my life, but this was one of them. The Muppets have meant so much to me through every phase of my life, and when I found out as a kid that Jim Henson was already passed, I’ve always worried that he didn’t have enough time to see how many lives he had positively affected. Watching this confirmed to me that I think he had at least a vague idea. Thanks for making this series! It’s not easy, being green!
The Jim Henson Hour was way ahead of its time. Also seeing the footage from Henson’s memorial was heartbreaking. 😭😭
Amazing series, I had no idea how much love went into Jim Henson's work. I guess I really didn't know much about the Muppets before this, but I'm glad I do now. Thank you Defunctland, for a masterful history of the life of a great man. He passed away almost a decade before I was born but he will NEVER be forgotten. "Kermit was alive, and so was Jim Henson" That line killed me, gone too soon
When everyone started to come together singing that final song, I couldn't stop the tears.
Well, that was the most I've heard about Jim Henson anywhere. Good show. Also you made me cry.
No words.
It's difficult to watch this video without getting a little emotional if you didn't grow up watching the shows and movies since you were a kid. I would say R.I.P to Jim Henson, but, he is probably busy.
Sitting at work, sobbing listening to this whole series. Jim Henson changed the world for the better.
Wow this was so moving especially after watching the whole series – seeing the memorial is very special. There was clearly so much love for Jim, really beautiful tributes all round (including yours!)
Wow this made me cry! That's fun! Anyway thank you for the amazing thoughtful work for the past 6 videos
I never knew much about Jim Henson, I knew he made the Muppets, but not much else. I stumbled onto the first video in this series by chance and I never realized how much of my childhood he made, how much my relationship with my grandparents who showed me and my siblings these movies and shows he affected, and how much he did for the world. I've been watching his stuff from when I was in kindergarten to this last week, watching puppet Christmas movies. I never knew how much he meant to me till now. The line about how "we were just getting to know him" really hits home for me, he might have died before I was born, but he shaped my morals as a kid and inspires me to this day. Thank you for making these videos and thank you for helping me see everything he's done. 💚
