  1. Ha ha, so not only was Ellefson a founding member of Megadeth but he was a member of Dave's previous band Fallen Angel.
Yet somehow Jr's not a founding member….yeah right lol

  2. Mustaine is a brilliant arsehole. However, most people would rather work with good competent people that are easy to get along with. No wonder Metallica kicked him out of the bad.

  3. I met both Daves… Mustain in 2001 just a couple days before the September 11 tragedy when they performed in Portland Oregon. Ellefson in 2018 Also in Portland Oregon when he was doing bassology. I have to say that meeting Ellefson was a better experience.

  4. Yes, there was another bass player, but that band was called Fallen Angels. And the vision for that band was to hire a singer.
When Ellefson came in, he told Mustaine to sing and his friend told that they should call the band Megadeth.
The band would’ve been very different with the original vision. The Megadeth we all know and love is here because those two guys met.

  5. I saw megadave again this week. I’ve seen em 6 times in life, 4 of those times were with nick and Marty. I hated seeing them open for ffdp it was insulting to real metal heads, and I can say that there was zero crowd energy at that venue and I do believe mr. Ellfison could have helped. Shame on that venue in Georgia, I took my little bro to see his first metal show and there were seats, what a joke ameris amphitheater, is please don’t visit Alpharetta unless you like horrible sound quality on a Monday night with 27$ shots and 45$ t-shirts and 75$ hoodies. Fkng disgrace to the metal community.

  6. I bet Dave still cries himself to sleep at night knowing he got kicked out of one the biggest metal bands of all time, If not the biggest.

  7. He doesn't own any of the band. If he co founded the band, he would own half the band. Mustaine owns it lock, stock and barrel. Ellefson was merely a salaried employee, just like the guys on stage with Mustaine now.

  8. The whole sexual misconduct thing that Ellefson had going on the side kind of screwed himself on that as well. With Mustaine being a born again and trying to maintain an image.. I would have fired him as well… negative publicity isn't beneficial
