I had a windows phone when I was a kid and that shit sucked lol, everyone in my school used Snapchat and my windows phone couldn’t download it so I hated life lol
My best smartphone i ever had will remain forever in my heart and that was a Nokia Lumia 920. I bought it in 2013 and used it for 2 years, never put it in case or screen protector, i dropped it a hundred times in the concrete, pavement, road etc and never happen a small crack. Had the best camera and battery comparing to any other phone at that time even if you compare it with today's phone. Had great use to it s apps even todays apps doesn't have some of the features that had window phone. For example Google map and iOS map cannot do even today what here map offered back than.
TBH I miss this era.
Aside from having no mainstream apps, I hate the aesthetics of the tiles.
I loved the windows phone I had. The only negative point was the apps. If it had a better app store, i would have stayed on windows phone i guess
Irony is that original iPhone was just ripped of LG Prada,LG patented capacitive touch screen and introduce it in Prada, even late and great Steve Jobs admitted Prada influence and form factor.
I had a Nokia Lumia, the camera was fenomenal. UI was so easy and simple.
Eh. Developing for Windows Phone (especially with their weird windows runtime platform) is a pain in the ass. Making code work in Android and iOS is more intuitive that's why even if we want to make apps for WP we end up just going for Android.
I loved Windows Phone OS. Still do. Would love it to have worked.
No leadership in building out an app ecosystem. That's what killed it . . They could come back if they had real leadership and worked on apps
I'm certainty in the minority of people who really liked the windows phone. I'm honestly surprised it wasn't a larger, longer-lasting success.
I LOVED my windows phone. What went wrong was the app store. Plain and simple.
I miss those tiles
the reason it failed is because the newer update makes the windows phone more like android. it copied android features instead of creating their own identity.
When my whole neighborhood had loads of complaints about VIRUS in their phones…their phone getting slowing down…my Lumia phone never had any problems.
Still using it. Running fine from 2013
7B is like pennies for Microsoft tho. It was worth the risk
9:17 He didn't see it as a loss. Instead he completely abandoned Windows in general.
Laughs in “Razor phone”
Phone is great just the lack of apps support
My first touchscreen phone was an HTC windows phone. It was ok but was clunky and didn't have too many apps. It was before the tile system got introduced. For instance, I remember having to sort my calendar out on a computer and having to buy more software, something that Google does so much better now. I had to use my browser for nearly everything, which was fine for the main part but when I got my next phone, the original iphone, the experience was a million times better!
I have used Android, iOS and Windows smartphones. For me personally, Windows phone OS was the most beautiful, simplest and friendliest operating system. Too shame that Microsoft did a masterpiece like this, although didn't had a good strategy to stay on course.
when I was kid my uncle had one (NL720). That was the first smartphone I've ever used.
Since Apple AND Google have a monopoly on service, there should of been no reason it failed smh
I had a Nokia Lumia, it was bright orange and it was a great device but the lack of apps was a major issue for me so i replaced it with an iPhone!
i never had a windows phone but i remember just a few of my friends had it when i wast in university. I never liked the square app icons on windows phone which was the same design of windows 8 desktop os. the square app icons was a huge push away for me. both iPhone and android have more compact app icons and the screen is more neat when it comes to organizing apps and seeing them all in one place.
even microsoft themselves didn't like the windows 8 style big app icons, they slowly changed them
And that's still $12B better than Elon's Twitter disaster.
