As a british person I was super surprised when I heard how much Land Rover Defenders were going for in the US. It was hard to imagine how such an awful (but inarguably iconic) car was so desirable based on my experience of many uncomfortable and unreliable examples.
Age 33. Can vouch the amount of time I spent on gran turismo 1-4 from like ages 8-18 was huge, still go back to those games every few months
i can see why he love that nsx type r that green paint white wheels the dash well every angle of that car was beautiful. and lets just geek out over that midnight purple gtr such another beautiful color
Ross Chastain said he'll race NASCAR like he did in the Gran Turismo games
NSX is great but I believe the MR2 , and perhaps the Hino contessa 900 sprint are far more important.
The first minute of this video was so true and I'm only 27. Fast and the furious and 2 fast 2 furious was amazing to me as a kid and I had gt on the first playstation. Got started early
Anyone who has been in the scene long enough realizes the prices most of these importers are asking for their cars is absolutely insane. The profit margin must be massive…
Dream Car when I was 12: 1982 Pontiac Trans Am Sadly, I still can't afford one… 😒
I can relate I had gt1 and gt2 before that didn’t know what a Nissan skyline was gt got me into car culture
I saw a white GTR here in Cincinnati Ohio just the other day.
Used to be best car channel on utube wtf happened
I, Like so many others in thier 30s, Scoffed at Hondas my entire adult life, Until 2 months ago when i bougth a Civic Type R. Holy crap they are fun!
Amazing as always, just shocked no FD3S. The only car missing next to a VR4.
Lol fellow 35 year old here. Funny that you mentioned that age, the movie and games hit us right before we got our license so the feeling was fresh and carried over strong!
time to sell drugs to afford my dream cars wish me luck boys
Love it the best Subaru that STI ever made was the 1st and a certain Colin McRae drove it
Legacy RS BC5
Shouldn't the type r be 5 stud?
I hate your 25 year rule. It’s screwed all the markets around the world. Lol
I did the same some years ago in Australia. Have a R34GTR V-Spec, Evo6.5 Tommi, STi Type-R, ST205 GT4, GTIR………still looking for the right NSX 🙂
I drive the shit out of rare cars just to make dudes like that squirm lol. I'll daily that NSX R.
It’s a shame that these cars are now out of the reach of the average person, the US 25 year rule has sent the market crazy for 90’s JDM.
This is 100% me. Got my EVO 8, Eclipse GST, Honda Civic, R8 🤙🏼
Each generation embraces its own Holy Grails or Red Solo cups. The Japanese are as good as the Germans at offering it on the same platform.
NSX-R sold for 305k. Not bad.
when you got allow of "passion cash" to work with .
To ruin a future classic I have a VR38DETT motor and GR6Z30A trans out of one of the 20 cars in the US for the 2014 GT-R Black Edition that was crashed at 20,340 miles.
I àlso have an 86 Fiero GT shell.
I wanted to gonway beyond the LS swap so over the past 5 years had the interior reworked to hold all the electronics and engine cooling as well as turbo intercoolers the sub frame, floorpan and suspension remodeled to accommodate ride hight, strength and stability for this monster motor. It will sit in reverse to maintain a mostly midengine layout so the drive shafts for what was the front of the Skyline will now drive the rear wheels since the power distribution could be tinkered with in the ecu it will be told to do 60% front 40% rear putting most of the power to the Fieros rear.

So….that guy would be sick 😫 over some of the things I have seen. There was a guy in Everett, WA that was importing cars from both Japan and European countries. From the EU he has sold the likes of Ford RS Turbo S1, Ford Focus WRC, Alpine-Renault A110 1600, Volvo PV444/544, Citroën C4 WRC, Volkswagen Polo R WRC, Fiat 131 Abarth, Fiat Punto S1600, Audi Quattro R WRC II, Opel Ascona 400, Opel Kadett Rallye, Peugeot 208, Skoda Fabia 3, Lancia 037 Turbo some were limited editions or even factory raced podium cars that had world championship titles attached to them all legends of racing that had been beat to hell racing group B that he sold for close to nothing.
From Japan Skyline GTR Spec II, Spec V Honda Civic Rs, NSXR, many of whitch were limited edition factory done or factory authorized, numbered Nizmo, Gready, and other limited cars. All of these Euro and Asian cars had been assaulted by the previous owners with blowoff valves, turbo timers, guages, body kits, aftermarket wheels, bolt in roll cages, strut tower braces, coil overs and more that just butchered the original feel. Nothing like seeing a factory number limited edition car with say Nismo shocks replaced with inferior Go Fast Pro Ebay brand parts. Some of the cars sold for as little as $8,000 to 16 & 18 year olds who plasta dipped, body kited, LS Swapped or worse the cars.
Worse yet some of those rare limited cars were brought in 10 years ago before they were legal buy…..yes chopping the front clip off bringing in only the motor, Trans, firewall, dash, seats, rear axle, glass if special and fenders, hood, quarters, bumpers and skirts if anything special. Yes some R, RS, Spec II Spec V, and others were destroyed to put parts in Nissan 280, Civic, US Integra and such ordinary cars.
I read 10s of thousands of pages a year. I read dozens and dozens of books. I have never heard or read the word "quotidian." As a JDM owner,
I liked the video but learning a new word was icing on the cake.
Domestic?
I’m 36, grew up on Gran Turismo and Fast and Furious came out when I was 15-16. First car was a Prelude VTEC and I very quickly realized that front whee drive four cylinder cars just cannot do what proper sports car can. Grew out of that phase pretty quick, and I’m glad about it.
An NSX isn’t even close to the LFA lol
$305K for the NSX-R. Wow!
There’s a NISMO Pulsar in Houston, I have receipts
Why TF is a 93 skyline 235k. I hate it here
All great cars. I am 28 and I fell in love with the 3000gt vr4 from Grand Tourismo and the eclipse and evo from the Fast and the Furious franchise.
Can you please stop buy car from Australia you are messing with the prices here. I could be a buy r32 gtr in nice condition for only 15k Aus so about 8k US at the time only 6-7 year ago now I buy a roller and parts missing, ex racing car for 25k Aus
You need to get a the guys at Motive Videos to tell a story of the history of JDM in Australia some of the best racing happened here and not a lot of outsiders know about it 👌🏼🇦🇺
90's and 2000's cars was such an important point in time for a lot of us. 😅 Nabbed my Terminator Cobra last year… Something about the older cars brings back our passion. 😁
I cannot wait another price record for 1 of 10 Skylines BNR34 GT-R with this colour and that special version, low km's, kept in climate storage and will never gonna be driven again or only for pretentious cars & coffee. I like these cars but even more like to watch the market bubble pump to enornous sizes by people who forgot what these cars were in a first place.
I'm 36 and I feel like you were talking about me in the begening lol. As an R32 owner myself, I felt this.
I love my 1995 Nissan Cedric! 60,000 original miles. It is so much fun to Drive!
35 yr old playing video games? Oh boy!
