What is behind the unexpected rise of Lorna Shore, the most popular deathcore band since Suicide Silence? I talk about Lorna Shore’s early years (“Triumph,” “Bone Kingdom,” “Psalms”) and Tom Barber; CJ McCreery and “Immortal”; Will Ramos and “To The Hellfire” & “As I Return To Nothingness,” and the role that YouTube reaction channels and TikTok payed in the success of “To The Hellfire” and Lorna Shore.

  1. I actually got to know about Lorna Shore because of those damn Metal Cats. I had to know who the band was. And now with Will in the mix, there my second favorite metal band.
Avatar will always be #1 in my heart. Long live the King!

  2. 8:57 The allegations were all false, which i'm assuming you failed to research. It's been a while since this, come on man it shouldn't have been that hard. You know what, nevermind. Your whole channel is based on bad research lmao.

  3. Easily one of the best bands I've ever heard… They are getting more rotation in my house than Architects or old BMTH or AA which is crazy.

  4. I’m gonna be honest… I didn’t get the hype with Lorna Shore until very recently.. I LOVE deathcore but not a fan of their orchestral undertones etc. but I watched an interview with Will and holy fuck. THAT GUY 😍 I am beyond obsessed. He is a human golden retriever, he is literally everything. I’m having a shit time so I paid for a cameo for my birthday and he went above and beyond for me and it’s what I needed. He’s sold that band to me and now I’m just as basic as all the others.

  5. Whooooa I ran in the same circle with these guys when they were first starting out. Knew Adam personally for a bit. These guys were serious and SUPER SUPER hardworking. So happy to see how far they've come!

  6. I've listened to them on and off since 2014. I remember when hellfire dropped and noticed they had over 1million listeners i was like tf when did this happen. Glad they're bringing up other bands in the scene with them.

  7. Great video. Will is amazing, but the music is just as great. Adam's solos are so good. Its not just a minute of sweeping and taps. They are super melodic and I totally love that. It isnt just "watch me hump my guitar while you wait for the song to come back". Some of them are beautiful. Especially Pain Remains I. Great.

  8. idk, yes those possessed pig squeals of Ramos made them memetic and well-known, and I, like many others, haven't heard bout them before their late incarnation, but their music to me is kinda cheesy (melodically)/generic core, only with sympho stuff added, like MDM-core y'know. And now after hearing about guitarist's pop music love I totally get why riff melody of hellfire is partly taken from "I like to move it".

  9. They deserve all the success they've gotten, but their rise to fame is probably because of the shock reaction meta among reaction channels. There was a HUGE rise in reaction videos, starting with nightwish and Jinjer. People followed the views and here we are. Some bands really managed to capitalize on the reaction meta like Jinjer, Lorna Shore and Electric Callboy

  10. Deathcore is not my fairytale. But Lorna Shore… Man they are sick!
And thier music fits PERFECT to Warhammer 3 Total War while I conduct apocalypse with chaos deamons 😀

  11. I heard these guys occasionally in a Deathcore mix on Spotify that I followed over the last 3-4 years.. only recently sat up and took notice of them when they popped into my Youtube Music feed. Will's charisma and the homage he pays to Dickie from IA is a big tick in my book, god I've thrashed IA over the years. It's nice that they're now the guys inspiring a new wave.

"Blackened Symphonic Deathcore".. I can get down with that. I dug the shit out of Behemoth's taken on 'Blackened..', and what they've done since. The symphonic part could have killed other bands, but it's made Lorna Shore.

  12. Lorna legit FLOORED ME when I first heard them in 2020, funny enough right after hearing Bodysnather's album releasing the same exact day. My jaw dropped when I heard Immortal but when I heard To the Hellfire, I legit fell to the floor with my face stuck with how heavy it was!
