Netflix has been the king of streaming for a decade, but recently the competition has caught up. Will Netflix survive? It may be too early to tell definitively but it’s not looking good.

37 thoughts on “The Rise and Fall of Netflix (Investors Are Suing)

  1. Sailing the high seas was what kept food on my table the past few months, I could still watch shows that I want to watch without paying for it and eating delicious food at the same time

  2. They promised they weren't going to raise rates back when they charged $8.99 / mo. They didn't send that message out in writing and shortly cashed in on that fact and began raising the price. That followed by less access, followed by more increases and worse content and lack of additional content even though they always promised more and better content to come with rising prices. Then came all the woke crap and when I got the notice the price was increasing from $12.99, I cut the string and never went back.
Here's my business model. Screw you, you screwed all of us over and over again. No one is ever too big to fail. I'll have a beer in your name the day you shut the doors.
    Thanks…….

  3. The main problem was the quality of their shows. They just kept degrading and shifted towards the Woke side of the world. Unfortunately, most people are not woke as they portray in News & Media.

Another mistake is the companies don't understand the market and people of the country they are entering into. If you wanted Netflix to succeed in India, you CANNOT charge the same amount for the subscription that you charge in the US. India's majority of the population lies in the Middle-class category and $20 for a month of subscription is just absurd for us considering there aren't any good shows they are producing except for the hypocritical woke ones. The same happened with Ford and Chevrolet. They couldn't adapt to the Indian market but Suzuki did, Hyundai did, Honda did. If you want your products to sell in a certain country, create the products which best adapts to the people of that country.

  4. The next generation will never know about the first date with a girl from tinder back to the pad for Netflix and chill. It's really the time they should have had all their crappy shows out because let's face it,after 5 mins in if you did it right you weren't watching the show anyways 😎👅🍑🍆💦

  5. Netflix just canceled my account due to suspicion of fruad!!! "Screw Netflix," and "screw movies." I did not respond, and If they chage me a penny, I will sue them, as I have Time, Energy, and money!!! The movie peddler, signed me up during covid19 for free. I think I have watched all of 4 movies. I will try to deture all future customers, with real reviews. Brother James Kendall Moore OSB OFS OSC

  6. I stopped partly because of the woke bs and the clutter of asian knockoffs and trash. There were two or three watchable series. I subscribed and watched those few things watchable and then unsubscribed for a few months until something new came on, watched it and unsubscribed again. Total subscription was approximately two months a year at best.

  7. Netflix was doing fine when it was woke, and wholesome, and aimed at stoners, and pro women. It was when it started pandering to the right wing with child pornography and rape of celebrity women fantasies that it's stock plummeted.

The fact that you're trying to reframe this is proof of how crazy and manipulative the right wing are.

  8. To survive, Netflix should lease their shows to other streaming services. It will also reduce customer silo-ing and bait people to return to Netflix’s subscription if they find enough value in the shows they produce.

  9. They almost axed Sandman because people didn’t binge watch it fast enough – even though so many people loved it and were spacing-out watching it so they could seamlessly transition into season 2.

  10. Netflix became so concerned with providing enough content that they took how huge loans and threw money at the problem by creating tons and tons of new shows – some quality shows- but also a lot of mediocre shows too. Netflix has to pay back the debt for creating content, so increased costs in subscriptions, cracking down on password sharing, and running towards advertisers to save them is all they can do. They have forgotten who they were as a company – an affordable, cordless, no ad alternative.

  11. And these idiots thought it was a good idea to sign up the ex Royals aka Hazbeen and Neverwas who are now living in Montecito. That move has cost them millions of subscribers.

  12. The problem is the expectation of infinite growth.
There can't just be infinite growth for a company. At some point, it will cease to grow.
Give it enough time and it might shrink back a little.

But in this investor driven, stock money hungry world, ceasing to grow is equated to a death sentence.
Everyone pulls out, plants down the headstone and proceeds to move.

That and netflix was beginning to make mistakes, which really did not help the situation.

  13. I don't see them succeeding long-term. Back catalogue is where the long-term interest is, and that's where services like Paramount+ and Disney+ are strong. It certainly doesn't help when they put out woke adaptations that serve only to alienate what would have been the inbuilt audience.

  14. They had their chance. They blew it. Time to get out of the way now, and let new innovations prevail, at least for a while, and then they too, will succumb to new players that inevitably come along.

  15. Netflix makes good original movies like stranger things. They need to bring new innovation like they way they started with. Combine go fund me theme and fund new independent pics. Let viewers profit on successful flix. Idk.

  16. It's like a big joke, you have people that complained about cable and satellite running to streaming for years, and now most of them have so many separate streaming services that they are paying the same, or more than they paid on that single bill they got from cable/satellite.

Most of the content is junk, anyway, put out by the same old handful of corporations.

  17. How the hell does Disney+ loose money?! How does Amazon Prime make money on their woke shows? Hulu who? Crab Apple – uck! HBO MAX good but to expensive, and Netflix cutting it's woke crap and get back to making entertainment. My money is on Netflix like Twitter and Disney going under MAJOR AND QUICK CHANGES – cutting the fat and getting back to non woke – entertainment like Top Gun…. no politics… where is Paramount+ on your chart? at 30 seconds? I pay for that for all the great Sci Fi shows – PERIOD. Last time, I looked they were making money… and expanding.

  18. I stopped using Netflix when I stopped being able to search for the content I want instead of them dictating to me. In the early days of Netflix you had access to their entire database of titles (Like Blockbuster in your mailbox) – but now you are massively limited by what they want to 'push' to your device, the same show might pop up in 10 different places when browsing, and you have no control to stop or influence it.

Even using the search function only gives skewed results now. Freedom of choice was the #1 reason I tried streaming!! Once I lost control to algorithms and profits – I was OUT!!

  19. What turned me off of Netflix is its propensity to put alphabet content in all its new programsing. I respect the right for a person to be anything they want to be. I reserve the right to not spend my money on it. I asked them to keep alphabet content out of my queue and they refused. i quickly cancelled my subscription.
