50 thoughts on “Sammy Hagar Says Alex Van Halen Refuses To Speak To Him

  1. As If Alex Doesn't Have A Right To Himself ??? crips…when people need space, why is that so much to ask? … people don't talk to me either, i don't care.

  2. People need to let Alex grieve the way he wants to,when he’s ready he will do something for his brother,Sammy needs to back off about having a stick up his ass, maybe it’s still to painful to contact Sammy,Alex if your listening true fans understand brother!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. A legitimate tribute concert would be one where everyone agreed to get along, check your egos at the door, & donate 100% of the proceeds to charity in Eddie's name. This isn't about Sammy or Alex or Dave or Michael or even Wolfgang. It's about Eddie & only Eddie. WWED.

  4. Sammy has never been shy about publicly unloading to the media about his former band mates. He takes a Dave to the cleaners at any opportunity. I'm surprised Sammy acts as though he has no clue as to why there might be problems with him fitting in.

  5. Big Al is done. He just wants to enjoy retirement, with his kids and enjoy life. VanHalen are over. They had an amazing career and its something to look back and remember fondly. Sam Hagar though…wtf. He just doesn't seem to be quiet though. You've been out of that band since 2004,you slandered the band every opportunity you got. You slammed Dave & Eddie, the ADKOT record, even the tour. You think thats just forgotten by Al? Some people just want to move on,thats Al. I can only speak for myself but I get a feeling Al doesn't want any part of Hagar because Eddie took those remarks very deeply. Remember the day Dave quit in 1985,Ed broke down and cried,he said he lost a friend that day. Now imagine the constant insults Hagar kept throwing at Ed. 10 years with the guy, like a close brother. Its not hard to imagine what Al saw how,how he feels. The blade Sam threw at Edward over and over and over again when they had clearly moved onto a new chapter once Dave returned in 2007. Sure, years later Ed may have forgave Sam because he was on his death bed,but from what I've read Al never communicated with Sam even when Ed was fading. There's an interview where Sam said he and Ed had messaged during the time Ed was getting really bad. Never ever mentioned Al in that statement. Was only he and Ed that kept in touch. Maybe Al feels allot of resentment. Probably wants nothing to do with that guy ever again. Enjoy your retirement Alex. RIP Edward.

  6. Van Halen's music IS it's own legacy. Fancy shows and tributes are cool if with respectful intentions, but Eddie was 1 of a kind and to try to cover his craft could be disrespectful. + We don't fully understand the intricacies of the band"s relationship. Why waste time speculating?..I'll never forget. ..VH1

  7. A tribute show would show r to be with Alex and whomever he can get along with. Assuming that includes Wolfgang and the big unknown is Sammy , Michael and Roth. If Alex cannot set aside his issues with any of them , they shouldn’t be involved, and if any of those three can’t set aside their issues with the other two, you have to decide which one should participate, otherwise don’t do it.

  8. If it doesn't come together organically I don't care. We have the music, and that's enough for me. I love both eras and they both have special memories to me during different times of my life.

  9. Sammy pays Homage to Eddie and his time in Van Halen everytime he goes out on the stage with The Circle. The fact that Al and Dave have their heads shoved up their asses is their problem. If they can't get their shit together and put on a show for the fans in honour of Eddie, it truly shows who the issues in Van Halen were caused by. Keep rockin' Sammy!!!

  10. We all have friends or co-workers we had in our lives at one point that we no longer want in our lives for whatever reasons. We just weren't on stages around the world and loved as a group by millions so we get to carry on without always being questioned about it.

  11. I’m sorry I never could understand the popularity of Van Halen. Their music much like their own careers was dysfunctional weird oddball and just really not very good but then again people think kiss is great music to

  12. Van Halen has always been a train crash – well before Sammy arrived. It's my hope Sammy and Michael will stick together to keep making good music for the enjoyment of themselves and their fans. Van Halen retired once EVH passed. People just can't enjoy what's there/what's been done or played and let it alone.

  13. I read Noel Monk's book about Van Halen. Michael Anthony was the nicest guy in the band and Alex Van Halen was lump of putrid filth and toxic jealousy. I usually give artists some slack but Alex is scum underneath moldering whale schit at the bottom of the ocean.
