28 thoughts on “New Battery DOUBLES Range of Tesla Model S in Road Test

  1. Given sheer number of scams around battery tech, there always seems to be some kind of major caveat that prevents it from being useful. Like in the case of One, maybe we'll find out that the car can actually do 750 miles but the battery pack is one-time use or some other such silly nonsense.

  2. HERE'S WHAT THE STAUNCH LIBERALS AT COLD FUSION WON'T TELL YOU… YOUR POWER COMPANIES GET A LOT OF THEIR POWER FROM THE COAL PLANTS…. IT'S ALSO A MASSIVE BURDEN ON THE ENVIRONMENT TO SOURCE JUST ONE BATTERY. I PREFER AN ELECTRIC CAR, BUT I'M NOT A LIBERAL WHO BUYS THE WHOLE SOB STORY…

  3. There have been a few examples of this channel making videos about bullshit technology. Mainly centered around Tesla, like the hyperloop. I believe this is another example of that.

CF needs to stop releasing videos on technology that isn't proven.

  4. ev cars have indeed had many start ups if it wasn t for the oil companies oblitirating them. can you imagine how much further battery technology would have advanced without the oil industry s interfenece

  5. Hmmmm I can't see how this would be better than a plug in hybrid. This is just lugging around a very heavy battery that will probably degrade. The PHEV lugs around a petrol engine and waaay cheaper.

  6. Do 2 tanks:)! Gas will always win in the long run. Turn around and come home or will that come with sitting in a parking lot waiting to charge. 🙂 No thanks. Plus they are really bad for the earth.

  7. You are doing reports on Tesla and Japan car manufacturers , but not Chinese car builders who seem able to do a lot better for less . Any chance you could look into them ?

  8. The ONE battery is a cobalt free phosphate li-ion battery, but it has some horrendous specs in terms of max deliverable current and lifecycle.
It depends on the main battery for accelerating the car, and while it can deliver the current for some high torque, it takes an heavy toll as consequence.
You cannot built a battery with an ideal in mind – in this case, removing the cobalt because it comes from the DRC.
Lithium batteries will always require some cobalt to sustain the molecular lattice. The alternative is a primary battery that can be recharged few times, like an alkaline nickel-zinc battery…

  9. I suspect they just doubled the size of the battery, because there’s no current way ( as in 2 years) to double the capacity of batteries, ( is there a way -probably((as those are still in the labs being worked on ))

but you can’t just put it into a car , because you need at lest 5 years onwards to show it doesn’t overheat how many charges it’ll take safety concerns, etc, so you wouldn’t see this in an actual car until 2028 . (Meanwhile normal batteries will have increased by 34% capacity in that time)

  10. Sorry but this video brings up only more questions than answers. I'll reserve judgment until more information is released. I sense there is something being withheld that can be viewed as a major drawback thus the thin amount of information about it.
