Did I hypnotise?
We could disappear into the night
But your obsession keeps my secrets well intact
Your aggression feels so heavenly
But let me say

I sonder them all
“But you”
A portrait of a lady on fire in my head
I’ll surrender and crawl
Even if it breaks me
Just say that you will never leave
Because we’re meant to be tonight

Your beauty feels like suffering
I’ll take it all
Cause what we do in the dark has got me thinking

I’m with you
In my head
Your devotion makes your bullets feel so real

“You won’t pierce my shield”
Let’s make a deal, no?
“You won’t make me yield”
“No not anymore”

So I keep you draped in a silver light
I know this double exposures got me composed in a petty fit
Contact, contact
Open up
You wanna know?
Vertigo I’ll stay obsessed

I’ll slaughter them
“But you”
A portrait of a lady on fire in my head
I’ll surrender and crawl
Even if it breaks me
Just say that you will
Never leave cause we’re heavenly

  1. Thinking about this song through the lens of the 2025 supernatural psychological horror film "Obsession" (directed by Curry Barker) completely changes the vibe. It fits perfectly:

"Did I hypnotise?" and "Your obsession keeps my secrets well-intact" – This feels like the inner monologue of Bear, who knows damn well that this "love" isn't natural. It's the result of a supernatural entity/toy he used to trap Nikki and force her to love him.

"I'll slaughter them all (But you)" – In the final chorus, this line turns into pure psychological horror when tied to the movie. That twisted, supernatural-fueled obsession inevitably escalates into violence and destruction for anyone who dares to get in the way.

"Your beauty feels like suffering" – This perfectly mirrors Nikki’s perspective. Being forced to love someone through a dark, supernatural curse isn't romance—it's absolute agony for both the victim and the onlooker.

  2. They really missed a golden opportunity by not making this the end credits song in that movie "Obsession". Would have given it that 2000s era dark movie feel

  3. 02:04
"…I knew that you’d pick up because I miss you, a lot
And, um… [cough] I'm sorry that I'm crying right now, but I'm drunk, and um…
Hahaha… everything, [crying] hurts a lot, and you know that this is bullshit
Because you found a new perfect girl…”
