New Jersey isn’t supposed to be producing some of the most sought-after flower in the country… but that’s exactly why this story matters.
In a market flooded with corporate cultivation, spreadsheets, and race-to-the-bottom production, one husband-and-wife team is proving there’s still room for true craft cannabis culture in America.
This month on CannaCribs, we head deep into South Jersey to meet Frank and Lyndsey the founders of Brighterside Farms a small-batch living soil operation producing some of the most talked-about flower in the state. Their drops sell out in days. Their genetics are built for flavor, terpene expression, and experience not just THC percentages. And their approach? It’s old-school cultivation rooted in patience, organic practices, and a deep respect for the plant.
From underground grow culture and Deadhead festival roots… to winning cultivation competitions in Michigan… to building one of New Jersey’s most respected boutique grows with just a tiny team this episode captures the spirit of what cannabis culture used to be… and where many believe it still needs to go.

  1. its always been the secret spot just was shady af to go to bakc in the day, you were for sure getting pulled over every other time you crossed the river way less out of state pa hate there now

  2. Hahaha, frank if it was that easy everyone would be growing the type of medicine you grow. 8:27 so much more goes into it, do you play the ladies music? 🎶
I was looking at. My fall mums this year thinking can I LST them and get cut flowers or large mums. Everyone should know how to grow something, it’s amazing

  3. Just researched this the other day. Only 3 I believe. Thank god we just got a brand in called lobo organic. I’ve searched it’s almost impossible to find . Thanks for pulling this episode together. 1:40 wanted to say thanks before I forgot

  4. I would never pay $75 an eighth unless it was the best cannabis in the world. And since it would cost an outrageous fortune it'll never happen. In other words you rich Jersey people, keep it!

  5. Fuck NJ weed if less than 1% is live soil. Guess I'll quit bitching about WA State. But this shows not doing their stuff much justice it looks like any regular 100oz wa coast life soil yet they're charging ridiculous top shelf prices 😂 we get some that dumb crap here too you can buy a $70 8th of some mainstream hype company or $30 find some way

  6. These are the type of people that should be growing the plant. Inspirational crew for real. If they’re looking for some unique genetics to run I’m right around the corner in the Hudson Valley!

  7. They produce the best cannabis in NJ hands down… they dont care about numbers or bag appeal… ive gotten stuff from them at like 12%thc and less then 1.5% terps… but the terps that mattered were there in abundance… they are growing for consistant profiles not numbers and that 12% thc stuff blew my socks off more that any 30%+ thc at 2%+ terps…. They are not the easiest to get ahold of but they will get back to you…. Also u can preorder strains so u make sure u got yours locked in…. I am sad they discontinued the elvis strain…. If trainwreck, black widow haze, and choco sour diesel really stand out and i cant get enough off but they have wake up strains like that, they have a very excellent blueberry haze (blue dream) thats a great all day strain and some heavy hitters if u just want to melt into your couch…. As long as they stay loyal to those strains ill remain loyal to them…. My dream strains from them are cuban, nevil, or tom hill haze with no crossing just pure lineage

  8. $75 an 1/8th is crazy lmao in Oregon we got real living soil indoor grown bud going for as low as $25 an 1/8th and the best of the best going for max $45. No state can compete 😅😂

  9. Dumping soil into bags is not "Living Soil". Living soil means there's diverse microbiology and a natural, unadulterated setting. I have tried brighter side herb, and it is trash. TOO PROCESSED. TOO ARTIFICIAL. GROW OUTDOORS. GET SUNSHINE.

  10. Absolute bullshit. The owners are Jews who don’t even smoke cannabis. Or grown. The guy talking about what he’s putting beds is all bullshit. He mixed amendments in buckets then put water and turned it into mud. lol. The plants in veg look like shit. He’s a poser. They have the money and someone else is doing the work. We all know he’s feeding planted bottled nutes prob fox farm or Athena
