44 thoughts on “New Prius vs 30-Year-Old Bentley

  1. Prius is definitely the one easier to live with, but the Bentley can give you a different experience. Of course it comes with a price…

  2. Prius all day. 10 years later I still can sold that Prius with a decent price in a quick turn over but for the Bentley, god knows how little I will get and how long will it take to be sold.

  3. I would totally buy a Prius GR, looks way cooler than the corolla gr AND better gas mileage? Fuck yeah.

Also, that focus group would NOT go Bentley if you'd mentioned that the window doesn't go up and the power steering doesn't work and the repairs will be thousands

  4. People who pick the Bentley either have deep pockets or have no clue about maintenance costs.. Also the Prius is new so it has technology that you are used to. The old Bentley has nothing.

  5. Man i have a vw polo from 2015 but if i were able to buy another car i would buy the bentley i can just imagine arraiving the university in a luxurious car

  6. No one will kid you that the Prius is the more reliable and cheaper of the two. And, I like Toyotas for what they are, and the new Prius finally takes the "ugly" argument off the table. But, the Bentley, if you get into the ecosystem of used Bentley owners and learn where parts can be obtained, and even do some minor work yourself, may not be that expensive and definitely a blast to own. Many parts that may appear bespoke are in fact OEM's for more pedestrian cars and can fit into the Bentley. Comparing technology for technology (like A/C, speed and sound testing) misses the point of the both cars. So, Bentley is maybe not a daily driver … get a puddle jumper for a second car and enjoy jet-set luxury and star appeal. Or, get both … 😁

  7. I would go with the Prius because I don’t want any car no matter how nice or fancy it was from 1997. I don’t wanna deal with the inevitable repairs on a car that old.

  8. Guys!! your content feels like getting premium subscription content for free. Every video has it's own style brilliant. It's like cable TV back in the old days.

  9. "The driver's window will not go up…" Um… fix it? I'm seeing them for like, $50, and it looks like a pretty standard setup.

Edit, a bit later: "That window didn't go up, 'cause it had a $1300 window regulator that's broken." Ummm… did you call Buckingham Palace and ask what it'd cost to rip one out of the Queen's personal Azure from the '90's? I'm finding them for £40, new, or £235 OEM, new, and I didn't even bother researching what cheaper car they yoinked it from.

I bet you could get it even cheaper, even just from a junkyard Jag or something.

Your research team be smokin' da crack or somethin'? Or you just wanted to scare people with that big number for lols and views?

Another edit, noting the blurred plates: Ahhh, that's probably the number you got from the owner, which he or she got from a shop that marked it up 400% and charged like, 2.5x labor rate because it's a Bentley. You guys should've done it for 'em just to thank them for the loaner.

  10. The new prius is pretty good power wise, they used to cop a lot of flak for being so slow when the first prius was made, where the new one is as fast as an Australian 5.7 litre v8 SS Commodore that came out the same time as the original Prius and was known for being decently fast here. Of course 0-60 speeds have improved a lot over the years but 7 seconds ain't that bad for a car that's primary focus is economy, I wouldn't mind one.

  11. 1st test – don't care
    2nd test – don't care
3rd test – don't care – im not that impaired to not able to park a car i'm driving.
4th test – don't care – im not ordinary john.
5th test – don't care – "all right partner, you know what time it is? keep on rolling babe!!"

  12. The transmission wouldn’t bother me on the Bentley. The mineral oil suspension is the big deal. But you can’t compare a Bentley to a Prius. Bentley azure was the nicest car in the 2000s.

  13. Sorry but IF I only save 17% from buying a FIVE yours old car – which means most of the factory warranties will be over – then I am buying new 100% of the time. That's just stupid and piss poor consumerism.
